Security operatives storm palace of Emir of Kano

KANO, Nigeria – Security operatives today stormed the palace of the Emir of Kano. The operatives, who are from the various security operatives stormed the palace few minutes after the Kano State Government announced that it has dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

The heavily armed security operatives who stormed the palace included men of the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
They stormed the palace and whisked the deposed emir to an undisclosed location.
The former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) whose ambition has always been to be the Emir of Kano is yet to issue any statement on his sudden sack from the emirate.

The Nation newspaper is reporting that Sanusi is being exiled to Nasarawa.
In a statement earlier today, the Kano State Executive Council said it was forced to dethrone Sanusi due to insubordination and for violating Section 3 of the Kano Emirate Law 2019.
