Speakers in 6 western states adopt single document for Operation Amotekun
OYO, Ibadan, Nigeria – Houses of Assembly in the six states in Western Nigeria, floating Operation Amotekun have unanimously adopted a single document for operation of the outfit.
The six Houses of Assembly in the Southwest on Wednesday adopted a single legal document for Operation Amotekun security outfit across the region.
Chairman, Conference of Speakers of Southwest States and Speaker, Ondo House of Assembly, Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun made the revelation at a meeting of the conference with the attorneys-general from the six states in Ibadan.
He said said the uniformity of the bill would ensure synergy of operation, intelligence sharing, training and others among the officers of Operation Amotekun in the six states of Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti.
He said the conference would not rest until an acceptable law, which will give full legal backing to the security outfit, is passed.
Those present in the meeting are speakers from Adebo Ogundoyin (Oyo); Timothy Owoeye (Osun); Bamidele David Oleyelogun (Ondo); Mudashiru Obasa (Lagos); Funminiyi Afuye (Ekiti) and Olakunle Oluomo (Ogun).
