Bernie Sanders wins New Hampshire primary
NEW HAMPSHIRE, US- Senator Bernie Sanders on Tuesday emerged winner of the Democratic Party primaries which took place in New Hampshire.
Bernie Sanders scored 73,470 votes about 25.9 percent to defeat his closest rival, Pete Buttigieg, the former Mayor of South Bend who scored 69, 216 votes, about 24.4 percent of total votes cast.
Speaking after announcement of the results, Bernie Sanders said what has happened is beginning of the end to Donald Trump Presidency, describing President Donald Trump as the most dangerous President in the history of America.
Benie Sanders has based his campaign on assistance for the working family and not billionaires. “May be this is a radical idea, but I believe that government should help working families not billionaires”, he has said.
Prior to the primary, he had said that New Hampshire voters will cast their ballot for the candidate they want to see take on Trump this fall, adding “Our campaign is the only campaign with more donors and donations than Trump’s, and it is our campaign that is speaking to young people, working people, immigrants and independents and bringing them into the political process. That is the coalition we need to defeat Trump this November”, he said.
Senator Amy Klobuchar came third with 55,982 votes about 19.8 percent of total votes cast while, Senator Elizabeth Warren was fourth with 26, 266 votes about 9.3 percent of total votes cast.
Former Vice President, Joe Biden came behind in the 5th position with 23, 813 votes, about 8.4 percent of total votes cast.
The American philanthropist, Tom Steyar came 6th with 10, 138 votes, about 3.6 percent of total votes cast. Rep member, Tulsi Gabbard is 7th in the Hempshire Primary.
She secured 9, 255 votes, about 3.3 percent of total votes cast while American Entrepreneur, Andrew Yang came last with 8, 023 votes, about 2.8 percent of total votes cast.
