With Samantha, C-Clear says Tuface living on past glory
VICTORIA ISLAND, Lagos, Nigeria – The entertainment sector is set for a major revolution with the introduction of C-Clear to the musical circle from the stable of Morning Side Entertainment.
C-Clear, born Christian Odiase, who has been under tutelage as choir right from a very tender age till he left as Choir director with God’s Historic Chapel, GRA, Ikeja has brought to the fore his wealth of experience all over the years into his debut album, Samantha.
Samantha is a 5 track album, with Samantha as hit track, followed by Your Ex, Oko Iyawo, Omalicha and Money. Speaking during the media presentation of Samantha, C-Clear said his sojourn in music may not be for so long a time because he is afraid of the lifestyle of musicians, adding that he loves his family so much that he does not want to leave it for music.
“I was afraid of the lifestyle of musicians. I don’t want to go too far because of family. I so much love family. I dont think I will be able to take my family and music serious at this stage”, he said, adding that people who go far in music are always single.
“They either lose family and pursue dream or gain family and lose the dream”, he said, stressing that Tuface got his popularity when he was yet to settle down. “Today he is living on past glory, there is no song he can sing now that will be better than African Queen”, which he said was released by Tuface before he got married to Anne Idibia.
” I just want to do it temporarily and retire at 80″, he said for joke.
Giving a brief background of himself, C-Clear said he started out as a choir member at St Paul Anglican Church. I was a member of the choir. I was baptised and confirmed there in Edo State”, he said, adding that both his father who is now 80 and his mother who is 70 were all member of the choir. His mother, Mrs.Odiase is known for doing Soprano while his dad sings bass.
“Latter, I extended my pastoral calling to the Penticostal church where I became Choir Director. I sing bass in my church and I play piano and drums”, he told journalists.
A member of the Nigerian Police Force(NPF), Christian Odiase joined the Nigrian Police Force in 2004. “I sat for the force examination in April and came out as best student in April 2004. I also got an award from then CP, CP Tunji Alapeni.
” I was transferred to Kwara State stayed for a while, I came to Benin and started my music properly”, he said. C-Clear plays all genres of music from Afro Hiphop to Highlight and folk songs. “I also do reggae”, he said.
Samantha, the hit track is named after his wife, whom he loved so much and would do virtually anything to please, including speaking the truth. He gave kudos to Top Most Beat for all they did in his journey to produce Samantha.
” I did not pay a dime for that song”, that was mastered in the studio of Top Most Beat. C-Clear loves trekking and wonder what he would do with a car when he is able to afford his dream car, Lamboghini.
Morning Side Entertainment is part of the Morning Side group which is big in the hospitality sector. It owns the Morning Side Suites. They also into content management, artiste production and broadcast. They are into capital market management and insurance.
Morning Side Entertainment is not like another Entertainment outfit that is out there to cheat artiste and rip them of their hard earned money.
“We are here to give back into the society, we are giving back to the society. We are not here to profit from them”, he said, adding that ” we have talented artests we are unleashing into the market”, he said and promised that C-Clear will be the true test of how far Morning Side Entertainment can go when it comes to music”, Morning Side Entertainment said said in behalf of Dr. Alex Oti, who owns the group.
Speaking during the event, MC R&B thanked the MD for taking note of talented musician like C-Clear and supporting his music”, he said.
