Ojuckwu University College Of Medicine inducts 47 medical doctors
ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University ,College of Medicine, Awka Anambra state, today inducted 47 medical doctors into practice. Inducting the new doctors, Vice-chancellor of the institution, Prof. Greg Nwakoby, advised them to abide by the rules guiding the medical profession.
He charged the inductees to be change agents in the health sector not only in Anambra state but the entire country.
According to him, medical doctors are trained to save lives and serve humanity and not necessarily for money making. He enjoined them not to compromise their Hippocratic Oath of practice , stressing that they must remember the oath at all times.
Earlier, the Provost of the Medical College,Prof. Walter Nwafia, lauded the support of the Chief Medical Director of the University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Basil Nwankwo, both in cash and through many other gestures.
“I commend the Vice-chancellor of the University for his demonstration of true love for medical education in the state. It is indisputable that you have given a facelift to the college” he said.
He urged the inductees to be good ambassadors of the university wherever they go worldwide. One of the inductees, Dr. Obiasor Ebuka Gideon, who bagged 11 awards and the Best Graduating Student , urged his colleagues to practice with dignity and truth to make their parents, guardians and Nigeria as whole proud.
