AWKA, Anambra, Nigeria – The Coordinator of Anambra State National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) Mr  Aremu Kehinde has disclosed that the scheme has identified  deficiencies in the state Health institution and  deployed more  qualified corps members to fill the gap.

The coordinator made the disclosure during the closing ceremony of the 2019 Batch C stream 11 orientation course for corps members  deployed to Anambra  state on Wednesday at its Umuawulu/Mbaukwu,  Awka South.

He said that the NYSC was in active collaboration with the state ministry of  health, through hospitals management Board in deploying the corps members to health centres.

According to him, posting of corps members were tailored in favour of  education and health in line with trajectory of Chief Obiano administration.

“In the  education sector,we have tilted our  posting policy towards rural area to ensure quality education in  our remote and hard to reach communities” he said. 

Aremu urged the corps members to respect the tradition and culture of their host communities as Anambra are  people  with great culture and traditions. He  challenged them to move into the nooks and crannies of the  state , upholding the tenants of the scheme, which is service to humanity.

“This is the time to put all you have learnt into practice. It behoves you to look around and identify  felt needs of your host  communities and carry out  laudable community development services projects that will touch  the lives of the people” he said.

He thanked the state governor Willie Obiano for completing and fixing the modern facilities  in the camp.

Speaking at the event, Obiano represented by the secretary to the state government Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu urged corps members to work hard in their services to be able to win the state merit award.

He also challenged the corps members to accept their posting to any place of the state in good fate and settle down to offer diligent  service to Nigeria
