JUSUN elects new EXCO, Shobowale becomes new Chairman
IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria, (JUSUN), Lagos State chapter on Tuesday elected a new Executive Council who will run affairs of the association in the next four years.
At the end of the keenly contested JUSUN election, Alhaji Kehinde Shobowale of the PILLARS team was elected as the new Chairman. He polled 388 votes to defeat Prince Taofic Gbadebo of the Omoluabi team who secured 382 votes.
Ogunnaike Adenike was elected as Vice Chairman while Olorunfunmilayo Oloyede emerged as Treasurer. The election was like a festival for JUSUN members who were not only patient but sat quitely awaiting the results after votes were cast late into the evening.
There was alot to eat to and drink and the atmosphere was filled with funfare.
JUSUN particularly needs to be commended for showing politicians that elections can be conducted in a peaceful and loving atmosphere.
In his address the Chief Judge of Lagos State Justice Kazeem Alogba praised the peaceful conduct of the election and the way the judiciary staff conducted themselves was an eye opener that election can indeed be conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
He further pledge his support for staff of the judiciary, urging them to work hard in pursue of excellence in their work, promising that their welfare will always remain paramount for him. The CJ was represented by the Director of Finance and Human Resources, Mr. Sanusi Kamar .
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman Alhaji Kehide Shobowale promised that he will not let the electorates down and that he intends to work hard to achieve all his electoral promises.
