ENGLAND – English club side, Arsenal has announced the sack of its Head Coach, Unai Emery. Arsenal also redeployed Freddie Ljungberg as interim Head Coach pending when a new coach will be employed.

“Today, decision has been taken to part with our head coach Unai Emery”, Arsenal announced online. Club owner, Kroenke Sports & Entertainent, Josh Kroenke expressed sincere thanks to Unai Emery and his colleagues and wished them success in their future endeavours.

According to him, the decision was taken due to results and performance not being at the level required of Unai Emery.

“We have asked Freddie Ljungberg to take responsibilty for the first team as Interim Head coach. We have full confidence in Freddie Ljungberg to take us forward”, he said, adding that the search for a new head coach is underway.

“Speaking in behalf of Arsenal board, our owner, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, Josh Kroenke said “our most sincere thanks goes to Unai Emery and his colleagues who were unrelenting in their efforts to get the club back to competing at the level we all expect, and demand. We wish Unai Emery and his team, nothing but future success

“The decision has been taken due to results and performance not being at the level required. We have asked Freddie Ljungberg to take responsibility for the first team as Interim Head coach. We have full confidence in Freddie Ljungberg to take us forward.

“The search for a new coach is underway, we will make that announcement when the process is complete”, he said.
