LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigerian musician, Tiwa Savage has taken a stand with victims of Xenophobic attacks in South Africa and has decided to cancel her concert scheduled for September 21, 2019.
In a statement on the social media, Savage said “I refuse to watch the babaric butchering of my people in SA.
“This is sick. For this reason, I will not be performing at the upcoming DSTV Delicious Festival on 21 September”, she said, and prayed for victims of the attacks in South Africa.
According to her, killing anyone that is Africa is offensive whether they are Nigerians or not.
She believes that no one wins when blood is shed, whether it is old video or not, adding that the issue needs to be resolved since Nigerians and South Africans need each other .
He decision not to perform at the festival is already infuriating South Africans, who are making spurious statements online.
