Xenophobia: Madagascar withdraws from friendly encounter with South Africa

LAGOS, Nigeria – Protest against South Africa as a result of xenophobia, which has resulted in death of many Africans has continued to spread across African states like the wild fire.
The latest is coming from Madagascar who has withdrawn from an international football encounter with Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
The football encounter is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Orlando Stadium at 19:00 hours Central African Time.
But this evening, the South African Football Association(SAFA) announced that the match has been cancelled because Madasgacar has withdrawn from the encounter.
“SAFA regrets to inform the public that the match between Bafana Bafana and Madagascar scheduled for this coming Saturday (7 September) has been called off after the visitors (Madagascar) decided to withdraw from the encounter”, SAFA said.
