LAGOS, Nigeria – Hip Hop musician, Abdulkareem Eedris has described the detention of Publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore in the past 45 days as blessing in disguise.
Eedris spoke shortly after Justice Taiwo Taiwo of a Federal High Court Abuja ordered the DSS to release him from custody. According to Eedris, some trials are blessings in disguise.
For him, the detention of Sowore has made him more popular in the eyes of Nigerians. “Those that didn’t know Sowore in past election will know him now in future elections.
“Some people gave up in the process, some said we deserve what we got, some even ask us to go beg Tinubu. While some were WhatsApp and FB activists who can write big big English from behind but were too scared of the oppressors and never wanted to show thier faces!
“But good wews is, we were ready for a time such as this, thats why we never gave up”, he said.
Eedris thanked every comrade that was part of struggle regardless of how it went down.
