Court grants El-Zakzaky, wife permission to travel for medical attention

KADUNA, Nigeria – A Kaduna High Court today granted leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria(IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat permission to travel to India for medical attention. The court did not however
Justice Darius Khobo who was ruling on the request of El-Zakzakay’s lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, that his client be allowed to travel abroad for medical attention ruled that El-Zakzakay be accompanied to India by officials of the Kaduna State government.
Reacting to the ruling, Dari Bayero, counsel to the Kaduna State Government said prosecution may appeal but that he will study the ruling to see if there are sufficient grounds for appeal.
Femi Falana said the ruling merely granted the IMN leader and his wife leave to seek medical attention abroad and that it was not an outright bail
