Ruga Settlement: Asari Dokubo spits fire, warns of resistance, see video

LAGOS, Nigeria – Ripples about President Muhammadu Buhari’s Ruga Settlement or Fulani Settlement is being felt across the length and breadth of the nation. Where some, like the Benue State Government have spoken against the development, many, have kept mute and it is just a matter of time, Fulani Settlement will blossom all over Nigeria, a stark confirmation on former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s warning about the Fulanisation agenda.

But the latest warning is coming from leader of the now defunct, Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Asari Dokubo. In a recent video, Dokubo warned that people in the South-west, South-South and South-East are sleeping whereas the enemy is awake planning how to take over their fatherland.

“We are sleeping and enjoying our enemies are working, they are having sleepless nights, they are having night vigils, on how to take what belongs to us. Today, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed without reference to the National Assembly, which does not exist anymore, a rubber stamp National Assembly, without reference to the Council of State, without reference to the Executive Council because it does not exit, there was no reference to these organs of government. Muhammadu Buhari has taken this monumental decision to set up Fulani settlement by force, nothing is wrong, Kumuyi does not see anything wrong with it, Father Mbaka does not see anything wrong with it, CAN President does not see anything wrong with it, they have all accepted it.

“They are going to create 36 settlements, settlements in 36 states exclusively for one ethnic nationality, and when we talk, they say Alhaji Asari Dokubo is talking. Make you too talk, and do something…we have gone to prison, we have come out, we have been put on trial several times, we have gone under ground.

“You have been no where, you run your mouth. Now it has come, 36 states, they are going to start the pilot project in 19 states, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Cross-River, Edo, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, Plateau, Taraba, Kaduna are among the 19 states where they will start this project, it is only the governors of Taraba state and Benue states that said it will not happen in thier various states. We have not heard from Kumuyi, we have not heard from Falana, we have not heard from CAN, It is not about giving yourselves names, junketing all over the world that freedom will come.

“Freedom comes by painful struggle and sacrifices, some of us have gone through it and still ready to make this sacrifices and go through it, even though, we are stupendously rich, …. we are rich, have you seen were rich men are sacrificing? Which person can have several buildings all over the world and commit himself to a struggle to go to prison, to be deprived, no. But that is the story for another day….Without recourse to council of states, he has approved our land, our money .

“Last year, I told you people that Buhari smuggled in a bill, to confiscate one kilometres of all coastal lands. If they confiscate one Kilometres of coastal land, then there will be no Buguma, there will be no Bomadi, there will be no Bakana, no Okrika, there will be no Brass, no Nembe, My younger sister, Hon Boma Gude pointed this out to me and I did a video, a cousin of mine saw it and he called Amaechi on the phone and booked appointment for me to go and see Amaechi, Amaechi is still alive and I went to see Amaechi, the Ministry from which the bill emanated, because it is an Executive Bill. It emanated from the Ministry of Transport. I went to see Amaechi, Amaechi said he was not aware of such a Bill.

“He swore in the name of God and he went to the Executive Council, and said, look, my people are bombarding me, I am not aware of this bill about you people confiscating coastal lands. That was how the bill was withdrawn. That bill has been taken back again, my sister informed me about 3 days ago that the bill has been taken back to the National Assembly and this is robber stamp National
Assembly. Where is the INC, where is the IYC, people have come out to contest elections in INC, they are waiting for Bayelsa State Government to give them subvention, they want to visit oil companies, that is why they came out not about sacrifice they have made.

“You are lying, we will not allow INC, in the hands of people who cannot stand up for Ijaw people. There are people who have made sacrifices for the Ijaw nation, some people are coming to contest for the Presidency of INC, where were they when Ijaw people were going through crisis, what was their contribution, what was their sacrifice, today, I am Ijaw, I want to be INC President, I am Ijaw, they were in their safety zones, when others were fighting, there are some people whose legs have been amputated, some lost their eyes, there are some people who lost thier properities in defence of Ijaw people. But they are busy abusing govenror Dickson of Bayelsa state who is a product of this struggle. They look at him and they abuse him, where were you?

“You are from the Western zone, where were you when Ijaw people wee defending their properties with their lives, thier heritage, who heard their names. You want to lead Ijaw National Congress, Go to Warri and ask what my contribution was, go to Lagos and ask them what my contribution was, go to anywhere where Ijaw people are engaged in this painful sacrifice and ask what my contribution was. I am not interested in INC, I have gone beyond all those things now, but we must tell ourselves the truth. It is when there is food to eat, you come out. The INC is not for people who want to eat, ‘Yefiapu’. It is for ‘Namacoriampo’

“So, please, I am telling us, the enemy wants to confiscate our land, all our land, we must stand up. You talk about Land Use Act. Land Use Act did not confiscate anybody’s land. It vested title on the state governors. This one is vesting title on Aso Rock, the enemy of our people. APC leaders, Ijaw APC leaders, Ibo APC leaders where una dey. Timiprey Silva, the thing don red. You don’t have mouth to talk to your fellow party members. When e happen, you run, you want to lead Ijaw people and you cannot stand up and confront your party people and tell them this will not happen but you want to rule over Ijaw people you want to use them to come and kill us so that you can rule over Ijaw people but you cannot stand up and talk on behalf of Ijaw people.

“Timiprey, I asked you when you came to solicit our support for this leader, …. I asked you when the chips are down will you be able to stand? I asked you, I am calling you becasue I confronted you, people are dying. The chips are down, you want to become governor of Bayelsa State, the chips are down. Go and confront your party people first, tell them our land will not be taken. We are not other people. Ijaw people are not other people.. We will fight them, so any law they like, let them pass, it will not work in Ijaw land. I salute the courage of the governors of Taraba State and Benue state.
