- Kills notorious kidnapper, armed robbery kingpin
PORT HARCOURT, Rivers, Nigeria – Six persons abducted by kidnappers in a commercial bus, last week, in a bus travelling from Lagos to Port Harcourt, along the East-West Road were rescued by the Police at about 7.30 am, Sunday. The victims included four youth corps members.
The six persons rescued, four ladies and two men are: Onyema Easter Ogechi ‘f’; Nnaji Chioma ‘f’; Ogeh Florence ‘f’; Akinduro Abel ‘m’; Franklin Ayama’f’ and Akinpelu Solomon ‘m’.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP. Nnamdi Omoni, in a statement stated that very victims were rescued in a forest in Emohua Local Government Area.
“Today 23/6/19 at about 0730 Hrs, in our sustained and unrelenting efforts in tackling criminality on the East/West Road, Operatives of the Rumuji Police Station in a sting Operation led by the DPO, Csp Ademola Adebayo, stormed a forest at Evekwu in Emohua LGA, where six Kidnap Victims were rescued.”
“They were however rescued unhurt and have been debriefed. Families have been contacted for necessary hand over.”

The Police spokesman added: “Earlier yesterday, a notorious kidnapper and armed robbery kingpin Mr. Zulu Ogwumike aka.Black Bush, was killed by the same Operatives in a gun duel.
The onslaught against criminals in the State is getting fiercer and will be sustained, until they are history.”
