Mugabe wants cyclone named after him as Cyclone Kenneth heads towards Mozambique

ZIMBABWE – Deposed President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe is angry. He is angry that he is not been celebrated despite everything he has done for Zimbabwe and Africa as a whole.
He is of the view that cyclone which are deadly and devastating in their own right are named after individuals, and for Mugabe, this in a way popularises such names.
He said one way he can be celebrated is to name the next cyclone after him. As he suggested, it should be Cyclone Mugage.
“I have done a lot for Zimbabwe and Africa in general, I should be celebrated. I deserve a Cyclone to be named after me, therefore, the next one that comes after Cyclone Kenneth, please call it Cyclone Mugabe”, he said.
Cyclone Kenneth is currently heading to Mozambique, with a maximum sustained winds of 220 kph (140 mph) – the equivalent of a Category 4 hurricane.
Kenneth is hitting Mozambique just about a month after another tropical storm, Cyclone Idai hits the region, causing massive damage and displacing thousands of inhabitants. Hundreds of people are currently being evacuated along the coastal region.
According t Tanzania Meteorological Agency, Cyclone Kenneth will hit the coastal areas of Dar es Salaam, the port city of Tanga and Pemba Island. Strong winds and rain may affect the Lake Victoria basin, its mountainous regions and the coast.
It is expected to make strong impact in Mtwara region. It is expected to cause disruption to aviation and marine activities in the area/
