#Nigeriadecides2019: EFCC in big haul of cash in Makurdi on eve of election
MAKURDI, Benue, Nigeria – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) has recorded massive haul of cash on the eve of the governorship and house of assembly election in Benue State.
We gathered that officials of the agency caught a man with large bags containing so much money allegedly meant for vote buying. During interogation, the man told officials of the agency that the money belongs to the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress(APC) in Benue State, Emmanuel Jimeh.
The EFCC said that officials of the agency were attacked during the raid, while their vehicles were vandalised.
“At North Bank Area, Makurdi, a man was caught with large bags containing lots of money. While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and vehicles vandalised.
“Information gathered confirms that the money belongs to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state”, EFCC said.
