APC lobbies to remove Kano CP Wakil, says Kwankwaso

KANO, Nigeria – Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso has said the ruling All Progressive Congress(APC) is lobbying to remove Commissioner of Police in Kano State, CP Muhammad Wakil ahead of the re-run governorship election.

“@OfficialAPCNg is making a serious move to remove Kano CP Muhd Wakil ahead of Kano Rerun election”, Kwankwanso said.

The Deputy governor of the state, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna had visited the Collation centre in Kano while collation was ongoing and attempted to disrupt the process before he was arrested by the commissioner of police along with some of his aides.

He was alleged to have attempted to snatch the result sheets of already collated results when he was arrested.

But Police spokesperson in the state, Abdullahi Haruna, said the deputy governor was at the collation centre to observe the process and that he was was not involved in the alleged result sheets snatching.

But was rescued from the centre when situation became rowdy.
