UNITED ARAB EMIRATE – Pope Francis has said he is aware of cases of abuse of nuns by parish priests but that the church is working to end such incidents.

“It’s true, within the church there have been clerics who have done this. Must something more be done? Yes. Do we have the will? Yes,” the Pope said in his jet on his way from UAE, after a three day visit.

He was responding to a questions that centred on sexual abuse of nuns by priests. Not too long ago, a nun at the Missionaries of Jesus, in Kerala, India accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal of Jullunder of sexually assaulting her 13 times between 2014 and 2016.
