PDP senator, Ahmed Salau Ogembe escapes accident 24 hours to election

KOGI, Nigeria – Senator, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Sen. Ahmed Salau Ogembe narrowly escaped death just few hours to the general election.

According to reports, his bullet proof jeep somersaulted several times, but the senator and other occupants of the came out unhurt.

Ogembe, prides himself as a grass root politician/mobilizer and an astute Public Administrator. He is a former local government chairman of Okeke Local government area. He represented Kogi Central Senatorial District in the 8th Senate.

He has been been campaigning for his re-election.

“I give thanks to God and our people in Kogi Central Senetorial District for their show of love and support for me and our other PDP candidates during our Senetorial tour. Our people across the Five LGAs remained resilient and joyous even as the tour went into the night. Politics is first, local and encouraged by the way our people appreciated our humble efforts by turning out massively.

“Let me use this opportunity to urge you all to remain resolute and dogged in the defence of your inalienable right to vote according to your conscience, shunning and resisting any form of intimidation, harassment, molestation, inducement and deceit. Nigeria belongs to us all and no one can claim a better ownership than the other.

“Ditto, Kogi Central Senetorial District. The power to choose who governs you, at whatever level, resides with you. Don’t play with it, please. PDP….POWER TO THE PEOPLE! God bless you and all yours. Once again, thank you”, he said to close his campaign.
