Journalist Ahmad Salkida slams Bayo Onanuga of NAN, says he is Jagaban’s lapdog
Editor-in-chief of News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), Mr. Bayo Onanuga is at war with Journalists Ahmad Salkida over his constant reportage of events, largely ignored by the conventional media in the northern part of Nigeria.
Salkida’s reports have often been laced with photographs, making it almost impossible to discredit him. But the former Editor-in-Chief of The News, and PM News made the first attack, when he twitted that the journalist’s reports show no regards for the Nigerian army, and pronounced his reports as treasonable.
What followed was a response from the journalist, which can be described as an onslaught on the veteran journalist.
He said he was determined to Ignore Onanuga, whom he said long ceased to be a journalist of value and has become a politician and lapdog of Jagaban.
“I was determined to ignore Bayo Onanuga and his criminality crusade. Because I know that he long ceased to be a journalist of value since becoming a politician and Jagaban’s lapdog. But since stretching it by accusing me of treason I’m compelled to address it”, he said.
The journalist also reported that past and current Governments have always denied almost everything. According to him, over 40 persons were either killed or abducted when Governor Shetima’s convoy was attacked, adding that dozens were abducted on their way to vote in Gwoza last weekend.
“For instance, over 40 persons were either killed or abducted when the convoy of Gov. Shettima was attacked. On Friday, dozens were abducted on their way to vote in Gwoza. There will be denials until a video is released then, silence”, he said.
