LAGOS, Nigeria – Former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has alleged that All Progressive Congress(APC) led Federal Government has perfected plans to impose emergency rule in Zamfara State.

The former governor who made the revelation on the social media said that Federal Government thought of the plan as a way of securing votes in the area since it will not be fielding candidate for governorship in Zamfara State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) closed the door behind the APC when it failed to conduct primaries within stipulated time to produce a bonafide candidate ahead of the 2019 election. But Fayose said he was informed that the FG will use excuse of the recent killings in Zamfara to impose the emergency rule.

“I have been reliably informed that the FG is plotting to hide under the killings in Zamfara State by armed bandits to impose emergency rule on the state. This is their response to the insistence of INEC not to allow APC field candidates for the 2019 general election in the state”, he said
