MOSCOW, Russia – Russia’s Ministry of Justice has included the autonomous non-profit organization “Institute of Globalization and Social Movement”  in the register of non-profit organizations acting as a foreign agent.

According to Wikipedia, “a foreign agent is anyone who actively carries out the interests of a foreign country while located in another host country, generally outside the protections offered to those working in their official capacity for a diplomatic mission”.

The Institute of Globalization and Social Movements was listed December 24, 2018, in accordance with the Federal Law “On Non-Profit Organizations. The Institute of Globalization and Social Movements”  is a Non-Commercial Organization for Countering the HIV / AIDS Epidemic and Health Protection of Socially Vulnerable Populations.

“The fact of the organization’s compliance with the characteristics of a non-profit organization performing the functions of a foreign agent was established during the General Administration of the Ministry of Justice of Russia in St. Petersburg during a routine documentary check”, the ministry said.
