LAGOS, Nigeria – In line with the tradition of entertaining residents to days of fun and entertainment as part of activities to end the year, the Lagos State government has kick-started the annual ‘One Lagos Fiesta’(OLF) in the five Divisions of Lagos Island, Ikorodu, Badagry, Agege, and Epe – on Monday, December 24, 2018amidst pomp and pageantry.

The eight-day festival will continue in all the venues until December 31 when the grand finale holds with superlative fireworks to herald the new year. The event has continued to attract fun-seeking Lagosians, both young and old, from across the five Divisions while the Badagry show has been patronised by revellers from outside the country.

Aside from scores of artists that have thrilled the audience with their popular rendition and evergreen songs, the OLF has served as a veritable platform for social cohesion and for economic purpose. Some of the A-list artistes still expected to perform at this year’s OLF include Olamide, Teni, Slimcase, Mr. Real, Humblesmith, Blackky, Mr P, Dr. Adewale Ayuba and Saheed Osupa, among many others
 

Since the event commenced, various renowned musicians like Chief Kolington Ayinla, Sir Shina Peters, Salawa Abeni, P-Square, Blacky and Stella Monye have performed at different local governments across Lagos State.

In addition to musical performances, kiddies corners have also been provided in all the locations engaging children from 12.00p.m to 6.00p.m daily with activities such as Bouncing Castle, Rodeo Bull, Carrousels, Cultural performances as well as Lagos Grows Talent, a grassroots competition which provides a platform for youths to compete in the areas of comedy, dance and music.

The Lagos Grows Talent competition has discovered young talents such as Eddy Montana, Candy Bliss, Treasure Crooner, Lit Vibes and Fathia who have featured at different locations during this edition of OLF.

As part of activities for the closing ceremony of the fiesta, a raffle draw will hold on December 31st for residents to win the Star Prize of a brand new Saloon Car donated by CIG Motors.
