WOMAN WHO TRANSFERRED MILLIONS SHE STOLE TO CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY JAILED

ST. PETERSBURG, Russia – The Oktyabrsky District Court sitting in St. Petersburg on Thursday sentenced Ekaterina Zaborskikh, the chairman of several housing cooperatives to accumulated sentence of eight and half years in prison for embezzling 33 millions rubles($500,000) from real estate investors and transferring the money to the Church of Scientology, Moscow.

Earlier in October 2017, She was sentenced to six and half years for embezzling over 130 rubles about $2 million from real estate investors for the benefit the Church of Scientology Moscow. Rapsi, the Russian News Agency reported that the court ordered Ekaterina Zaborshikh to pay 600,000 rubles ($9,000) as costs.

Her victims are also demanding a total sum of 133 million rubles from the defendant.

The court was told that the defendant was responsible for deceiving people into paying her money under the guise of selling apartments, houses and plots of land around St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region even when she had no capacity for such real estate deal. She was said to have stolen 130 million rubles from her clients between 2012 and 2014.

After tricking her victims, Zaborskikh would among other things transfer the money to the Church of Scientology Moscow”.

Scientology teaches that people are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature based on the teaching of L. Ron Hubbard.
