PRINCE EWEKA OF BENIN KINGDOM DOCKED FOR U.S JOB SCAM
MANHATTAN, U.S – A prince of Benin Kingdom(Nigeria) and citizen of the United States, Prince Osmond Eweka has been arraigned before a Manhattan Court, for duping hundreds of job seekers in the United States.
Prince Osmond Eweka, allegedly collected thousands of Dollars from Americans in exchange for jobs that never exit. Eweka used the name Sean Jackson, while his cohort, McKay used the name Tyrone Hayes.
During arraignment, the 31-year-old Prince of Benin however sought permission to travel to Nigeria to celebrate birthday of his son after pleading not guilty. According to Daily Mail, Eweka and his friend, Kamel McKay,created bogus employment agency firms and used www.indeed.com to find their victims.
McKay who was arraigned with Eweka was released on $200,000. Eweka, who married Imade Igbinedion in an elaborate wedding ceremony in 2016 in Nigeria was also released on bail.
“They interviewed victims and made them pay a fee, ranging between $300 and $700. The two men would then send the job seekers to businesses where they were turned away, because the employers were not expecting them”, the newspaper reported.
According to prosecutors, Eweka and McKay victims include hotel housekeeping and front desk receptionists.
