ABUJA, Nigeria – Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has ordered immediate termination of the appointment of the Director General of the Department of Security Service(DSS), Mr. Lawal Musa Daura.

Senior Special Assistant to the Acting President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande made the revelation in a statement.

The statement directed Daura to hand over to the most senior person in the DSS.

“AgP Yemi Osinbajo has directed the termination of the appointment of the DG of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Musa Daura”, Laolu Akande said in a statement.

This is coming following blockade of the National Assembly complex by DSS today, forcing the lawmakers to suspend the meeting.

Recall that the emergency meeting called by the President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki for lawmakers to convene and debate request from the Presidency for viament submitted by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) could not go on as scheduled.

Most of the lawmakers who arrived the National Assembly complex this morning were barred from gaining entry into the complex. National Assembly workers were also not allowed into the complex, same with clerk of the senate.

We gathered that while some lawmakers that defected from the All Progressive Congress(APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) were not allowed into the premises, those of the APC however gained access through the backdoor.

Speaking during the siege, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yussuff Lasun, said that the meeting cannot hold because of the situation at the National Assembly.
