It’s a failed assassination – Govt House

ADO-EKITI,Nigeria – Officials of the Department of State Service, DSS today invaded Ekiti Government House in Ado -Ekiti and unleashed teargas on the governor of the state, Mr. Ayo Fayose during a confrontation with the officers.
According to photographs released by the state house, the governor fainted after the attack and was photographed being revived by officials of the Ekiti Government House. As at the time of reporting, the DSS officials have condoned off the perimeter of the government house. In a terse statement Fayose’s spokesperson, Idowu Adelusi, described the act as an assassination attempt on the life of governor.
“The governor is currently receiving treatment at govt house clinic after he was hit by a teargas canister fired by the policemen. The armed policemen are still laying siege at the Govt House, Ekiti State”, he told New Telegraph.
Meanehile, The Nigeria police force has ordered the withdrawal of all police officers attached to VIPs and other persons within Ekiti state from Friday this week. The withdrawal is to enable the officers participate in the Saturday’s Govornship election. Deputy Inspector General of police in charge of operations Mr Joshak Habilla announced this while addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti.
