IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – The Lagos State Police Command today arraigned 26-year-old Medical Doctor, who has abandoned medical practice for a more lucrative business of hacking. The medical doctor by name Micheal Williams, was arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on charges of stealing a Porsche car valued N28 million.The accused, who lives at 2667, Hilton Layout, Lekki area of Lagos, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing. He pleaded not guilty.




Police Prosecutor Peter Nwangwu told the court that the accused committed the offences with others now at large Ajah an outskirts of Lagos, at 7.50 p.m, May 10.

According to him, Williams stole a Porsche car valued at N28million property of the complainant, Mr Abidogun Adewale. The prosecutor also alleged that the accused stole a Toyota Corolla car valued at N3.5million belonging to one Omopeyin Oluwaseun and that he was apprehended by the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad (FSARS) in Ikeja, following receipt of a petition.

The two count charge brought against him read thus:

Michael Thompson Williams and others at large, on 10th May, 2018 in Ikeja Magisterial District at 1950 hours at Ajah, Lagos did conspire to commit stealing and thereby commit felony to wit Contrary to Section 280 of Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. The offence is punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law and Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.

Count II: That Michael Thompson Williams ‘m’ and others now at large did steal one Porsches car, property of one Abidogun valued at Twenty eight million naira only (N28,000) contrary to Section 280 and and thereby committed an Offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law an offence Punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal.

That you Michael Thompson ‘m and others now at large did steal one Toyota Camry on same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District of Lagos, valued at Three million, Five hundred thousand Naira only property of one Omopeyin Oluwaseun ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence Punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant’ pleaded not guilty to the charge, therefore, Magistrate Y.Aje-Afunwa granted him bail in the sum of 2.5 million naira with two sureties in like sum who must swear to an affidavit and having verifiable documents and adjourned the matter to August 6 for hearing.

Recall that sometimes in May, the suspect was paraded by police at the police command headquarters as a 28 year old medical doctor turned hacker.

The suspect who had worked with front line hospitals in Lagos, Eko and Tolu Medical Centre hospitals usually hacked into customers accounts with banks and financial institutions’ as well as monitors private emails of people.

He confessed to have acquired hacking skills when he travelled to Canada and that through the expertise, he could earn enough to buy various goods worth 40 million naira with credit cards and make false payments in tranches to unsuspecting victims.

Williams met his waterloo on 23rd March, 2018 when a complaint was lodged by a car shop owner one Abidogun Adewale that a syndicate bought exotic cars of 28 million naira, paid into his bank account but on visiting his banker, he discovered he had actually received a false bank alert indicating payment for a Porsche car sold at 28 million.

While parading Williams on Monday at the Police Command Headquarters, the Lagos State Police, Commissioner, Mr. Imohimi Edgal told journalists that the suspect during his dialogue with him admitted commission of the crime.

According to the CP, “the suspect is member of a syndicate that goes to car shops, buys a car, configures a computer program that would send a fake payment alert to the seller and by so doing, obtains a car.

Edgal said Abidogun Adewale whose car shop played host to Williams’ syndicate bought a Porsche car at a whopping price of twenty-eight million Naira (N28,000,000:OO). He added that the suspect thereafter requested for the seller’s bank account number and made it look like he had paid him via the fake alert to his phone using HTTP channel. Thereafter, the suspect drove the car away, unknown to the seller that he had been scammed.

A police manhunt was launched on the fleeing suspect by the Command, dispatching detectives of the FSARS and all necessary intelligence asset after the suspect, this led to the arrest of the suspect in Lekki, Lagos.

Upon his arrest, he led detectives to Asaba, Delta State, where the stolen Porsche car was recovered. He also led detectives to Owerri, Imo State where two Camry Saloon Cars he stole in a similar fashion were recovered. Williams said he creates credit cards through cyber ghost 12.He further stated that through the credit card, he can buy softwares he needs to work and protect his job so that he cannot be traced.

“Such softwares are known as vpn and word cyber protector e.g Dare Devil. It also enables you to do deductions and transactions per dollar from every individual domiciliary account. The suspect shocked journalists when he said he is able to shut off CCTV camera on Dare Devil and break the two hundred and fifty-six (256) codes on word, CCTV.China.com.northkorea.codeuntouchable.tracker.com.

He explained that this enables him to shut down any working system of his interest .
