SUNSHINE STARS MOURNS AS KANO PILLERS’ CHINEDU UDOJI DIES IN CAR CRASH
AKURE, Nigeria – The Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), the holding body of Sunshine Stars FC has sympathised with Kano Pillars over the demise of Club captain, Chinedu Udoji. Chinedu died on Sunday in a car crash in Kano State.
“It was with rude shock that the tragic news of Udoji’s death in a ghastly auto crash in Kano got to everyone at ODSFA and Sunshine Stars FC on Monday morning (19/02/2018)”, Sunshine Stars said.
It added that Just as every football stakeholders in Nigeria, the club is deeply hurt by this sad development.
“Our president, Tajudeen Akinyemi who recalled watching Udoji holding Pillars back line against us in Akure recently prayed God grant his Club, family, friends and fans the strength to overcome the painful loss”, the club said.
“I saw him play against us recently in Akure he was truly inspirational as a leader. This is perhaps the saddest news received this year. I pray God, the giver and taker of life grant everyone at Kano Pillars and his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Akinyemi said.
During this difficult moment, the thoughts and prayers of everyone at Sunshine Stars FC are with Kano Pillars, family, friends and fans left behind by Udoji.
