The 2Face Foundation transforms to 2Baba Foundation

IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – The 2Face Foundation, a not-for-profit and humanitarian organization founded by music icon Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Baba, has undergone a name change.




It will now be officially known as and called The 2Baba Foundation, Innocent Idibia has said, adding that the initiative was borne out of 2Baba’s desire to deploy his voice and star power in service to humanity. The 2Face Foundation was founded in 2008 by 2Baba who at the time went by the stage name 2Face Idibia.

“However, after changing his stage name to 2Baba, it was only right to align his projects including The Foundation with his current brand name, prompting the name change of the Foundation”, the foundation said.

The 2Baba Foundation primarily seeks to promote peace in Nigeria and Africa through working with like-minded individuals and organizations with a common goal of peaceful and productive coexistence of all persons irrespective of age, ethnicity, economic status or gender roles. The foundation seeks to combat violent extremism through projects that target to shape the mindset and thinking that leads to such vices.

The Foundation has undertaken several projects over the years, sometimes in partnership with other organizations. Some of the notable projects include: Vote Not Fight, in partnership with Young Stars Foundation and National Democratic Institute NDI, The Hold My Hand IDP Intervention Project, in partnership with the UNHCR ; Project 14/14, in partnership with Kudirat Initiative For Democracy KIND, A Million Voices For Peace, Benue Flood Relief Initiative, One Voice Nigeria, in partnership with Enough Is Enough (EiE), One Voice Peace Concert series, in partnership with EIE, Man Unkind, for NAFDAC; a campaign against fake and substandard foods and drugs, Play Your Part (Malaria) project, in partnership with Net Nation, The 2Face Peace Awards and Violence Free World, in partnership with his royal highness, the Ooni of Ife.

Other organizations that the foundation is currently working in partnership with include Oxfam, Red Cross, Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy CECP, and Little Big Souls. The name change was announced and the new logo was unveiled at the very successful Buckwyld ‘N’ Breathless concert which held in Lagos on October 22nd 2017.
