TOM PETTY DIES AT 66 OF CARDIAC ARREST

LOS ANGELES, United States – American Rock and Roll musician and song writer Tom Petty is dead. He was 66. He died on Monday at a Santa Monica hospital, surrounded by family members, band members and friend.

Tom Petty was found at his home unconscious before he was rushed to hospital.
Long time manager of Tom Petry & The Heartbreakers, Rocker Tom said Tom Petty died Monday after being rushed to Santa Monica Hospital, University of California.

“He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived. He died peacefully at 8:40pm PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends,” Dimitriades said in a statement.

The group came to limelight in 1970 and credited with hit songs such as “Free Fallin’,” “American Girl” and “I Won’t Back Down.”

Tom Petty was born 20th October 1950. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. He married to Jane Benyo in 1974 but divorced in 1966. They had two daughters, Adrian and Anna Kim.
