STRATFORD, London – Not less than six persons have been injured in noxious gas attack in London, the Metropolitan Police has reported. One person has also been arrested in connection with the attack.




“Police were called just before 20.00hrs on Saturday, 23 September to the area around Stratford Centre in Broadway E15 to reports of a group of males spraying what was believed to be a noxious substance”, police said.

Although the attack has nothing to do with terror, according to the police, those in Newham are said to be investigating the attacks in Stratford where a noxious substance was used.

“Police were called just before 20.00hrs on Saturday, 23 September to the area around Stratford Centre in Broadway E15 to reports of a group of males spraying what was believed to be a noxious substance.

“London Ambulance Service, British Transport Police and London Fire Brigade are in attendance.

“A number of people have been reported injured at different locations – believed to be six people. We await further details. One male has been arrested on suspicion of GBH. Officers remain on scene. A cordon is in place. Enquiries continue. This incident is not being treated as terror-related”, the police said.
