PSQUARE: PRAY FOR FEUDING OKOYE FAMILY, FESTUS KEYAMO TELLS NIGERIANS
IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Humanrights lawyer, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN) has called on Nigerians to pray for the warring Okoye family and respect their privacy.
Festus Keyamo made the remarks in a statement in response to allegations that the feud between Peter Okoye and his brother Paul Okoye was the making of their wives.
Peter Okoye had released a statement indicating his intention to leave the musical group, PSQUARE, alleging that his life and that of his family were at risk.
But in a rebuttal, Keyamo said none of the brothers were at fault and the wives of the three brothers making PSQUARE had nothing to do with the feuding brothers.
“None of the talented brothers is at fault. None of them is wholly justified and correct in their individual positions.
“We also wish to state categorically that contrary to widely held opinion, none of their wives is at fault. In fact the wives have kept their respectable and dignified distances from all the issues involved. They have never interfered in any way”, he said.
He explained that while all the three brothers may have genuine grievances, ‘nobody’s life is at risk’ and that whatever was said by all of them that were provocative were done in the heat of passion, emotion and anger.
He said the online video circulating happened in May 2016 and that the family sat after it. He called for privacy and prayers for the family.
