PORT HARCOURT, Rivers, Nigeria – Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Mr. Zaki Ahmed, has said that his command arrested 32 supporters of the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB), for their alleged involvement in the fracas that occurred this week in Oyigbo Local Government area of the state.




Commissioner who was speaking at a press conference said 23 of the pro-Biafra agitators were arrested on Tuesday and nine apprehended on Wednesday .

He said they were arrested for allegedly attacking policemen on duty and killed an officer, Sergeant Steven Daniel.

He alleged that members of the group carted away AK-47 rifle with 60 rounds of live ammunition and one Berretta pistol with eight rounds of live ammunition.
