IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Nollywood superstar has warned Nigerian filmmakers to beware of been boxed into a corner by owners of cinema houses.

Young who was speaking on TVC said he has been told by one or two filmmakers who said that owners of cinema houses now have preference for comedy films.

According to him, the owners of these outfits have the belief that it is comedy films that sell, which he said is a wrong perception. ” Who told you tragicomedy cannot sell he queried.

The actor who said acting has improved generally due to the presence of core professionals said the problems with Nigerian films is lack of characters in scripting. According to him, there could be a crippled father and father taking other characters.

He would prefer a script that would define characters for the actor since most director actually don’t have the time.

He now spends his time acting, consulting and teaching.
