IKOYI, Lagos, Nigeria – The second edition of the Vibe.NG forum “Community meeting with Nollywood” with theme “From Script to Screen and everything in between” held at the Didi Art Museum, Lagos.

The panelists consist of veterans and new age entertainers who came together to discuss the Nigerian Movie Industry. Adunni Ade took centre stage as the panel moderator; she asked questions ranging from Classic Nollywood to the new Nollywood.

Veteran Actress and movie producer, Kate Henshaw talked about how the industry has grown from the early stages to the New age Nollywood, how distribution and piracy is still a major problem, how social media is a very effective tool for marketing in this new age and era, how good content is what will keep impacting the society.

She also spoke on new opportunities available in the Nigerian movie industry.

Movie Producer Jade Osiberu, who recently produced “Isoken: The Movie” spoke on how she was able to market Isoken effectively with the Internet and social media, she mentioned how investing in the film industry is still a major challenge.

She also gave some key points on why some movies are more profitable to make than others.

Movie Producer & Actress Juliet Ibrahim mentioned the difficulty and challenges faced with distribution and how difficult it is to make profit, she also spoke of how foreign movies are given priority in Nigeria and therefore limiting the growth of the Nigerian Movie Industry.

Actor Deyemi Okanlawon talked about how movie reviews should be done properly & professionally, there should be better marketing structures, business models and ventures for the Nigerian movie industry.

He suggested that the focus should be on impactful movies that will educate and positively affect the Nigerian society. Beautiful Adunni Ade ended the forum with the question and answer segment.
