IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – There was heavy presence of members of the security forces this morning in the premises of Ikeja High Court, following the arraignment of Evans as we reported on Tuesday.
From the main entrance, heavily armed men mounted the gate and assisted the local security to attend to those coming into the court to avoid security breach.
The exit gate was equally guarded with armed policemen and DSS with some patrolling the perimeter of the roads leading inside the court with horses.
All those entering Justice Hakeem Oshodi’s court where Evans was eventually arraigned were frisked before they were allowed to go in after proper identification.
Evans was arraigned on two count charge of Kidnapping and Conspiracy to abduct Nigerians. Speaking from the dock, Evans pleaded guilty to both charges. As at the time of filling this report, the prosecutor was still waiting to obtain remand warrant from vacation judge, Justice Oshodi.
