FIRST ABIA WARRIORS LEAGUE GOAL EXCITES ARINZE NWANGWU
UMUAHIA, Nigeria – Star midfielder, Arinze Nwangwu says he is excited to have ended his goal drought in Abia Warriors colours.
Arinze scored the only goal as Abia Warriors beat visiting MFM from Lagos 1-0 at the Umuahia Township Stadium in a week 36 action of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
“It was a very difficult match as we all know that MFM is a good side and for me to score the winning goal is special”, the former El-KanemiM Warriors of Maiduguri said.
He commended the players and officials for working together to achieve the victory revealing that before the game, they had agreed to win the match in honour of the club’s chairman, Chief Emeka Inyama who was celebrating his birthday.
On Abia Warriors position on the league table, Arinze said there is no cause for alarm as the Umuahia capital city side will retain its premiership status at the end of the season. While promising his fans that he will continue to do his best to lift the club, Arinze who joined Abia Warriors this season from neighbours, Heartland FC of Owerri said his fans should expect more from him in the days to come.
