PRAYER CITY, Ogun, Nigeria – Authorities of the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry have been advised to urgently evolve and sustain a robust and highly responsive security architecture to stem the wave of crime as well as adequately cater for the teaming populace that regularly throng its prayer city for spiritual assistance.

A renowned Public Affairs Analyst and Author Martins Ikhilae who made the call while speaking with Journalists at the weekend expressed displeasure at the security infrastructures put in place at the ministry’s prayer camp located along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway describing it as grossly inadequate.

According to him, a place like the MFM prayer city deserves nothing less than a standard security structure that is adequately manned by men of the Nigerian Police Force/Military intelligent considering the increasing state of the facility and its’ patrons.

He contended that security situation at the MFM prayer city must be professionally addressed so as to adequately sustain the good intentions of the project founding fathers adding that anything contrary will spell doom for it as it could become a problem provider rather than being a solution provider which it was meant to become.

He contended that the center could become a hideout for hardened criminals who could persistently unleash terror on innocent and highly unsuspecting users of the prayer centre particularly foreigners and Nigerians alike.

Mr. Ikhilae who bemoaned the porous state of security at the camp, called for a more stringent and watertight approach to the provision of adequate security services to visitors at the camp stressing that the relevance of maximum protection of lives at such a facility to guarantee confidence and maximum patronage cannot be under emphasized.

The Analyst further called on the Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministry management to as a matter of necessity and urgency rise to this historic challenge which he said could make or mar the progress and expansion of the laudable vision.

Apparently reacting to recent kidnap attempt on him by some unknown persons masquerading as soldiers of the Nigerian Army, the analyst declared that an effective and highly dependent security must critically scrutinize persons, vehicles and luggage irrespective of owners status and means of mobility adding that criminals are known to often ride in big, expensive and exotic cars which they use as a decoy to escape arrest and intimidate security agents stating that the MFM prayer city administrators must rise to this challenge.

Mr. Ikhilae revealed how he had suspected a Ford runner Jeep pursuing him at MFM along Ibadan-Lagos expressway recently and how he reported the matter to the Chief Security officer who told him that investigation is on to determines the real owner of the Jeep and the mission within the premises.

“Although, the CSO is making efforts, but it is not enough because if not for God protection and being vigilant, may be those people may have kidnap me without anyone knowing. The MFM authorities must beef-up security in that place before the good name of the place become sour”, he remarked.

Responding to the allegation, the MFM CSO told our correspondent that Mr. Ikhilae truly brought the petition again the suspected vehicle, “but we have set up machinery to investigate and get the true picture of the matter. Once we are through, action will follow immediately”.

“On the security matter, we will continue to improve on it and all the loopholes will be address adequately. This place is church premises, one has to be careful on whatever step you want to take so as not to get negative response from the public”, he said.
