IGBOSERE, Lagos, Nigeria – An Igbosere Chief Magistrate court, Lagos on Tuesday ordered the remand of a property developer, Felix Ezeamama in prison custody over alleged armed robbery, attempted murder and unlawful damages.




Chief Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe (Mrs) gave the order following a remand application brought before the court by the Officer in Charge, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Departing (SCIID) Panti Lagos, CSP Effiong Asuquo.

The prosecutor informed the court that application was brought pursuant to Section 264 (1,2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos state 2015 to enable the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPO) to issue legal advice onnthe allegations leveled against the suspect.

The suspect, according to the prosecutor in a charge attached with the remand application is to face charges bordering on armed robbery, attempted murder and willful and unlawful damage.

CSP Asuquo had informed the court that the suspect with others now at large, while armed with dangerous weapons, such as guns, cutlasses, sledge hammers and other dangerous weapons, invaded a property located at 41 Alfred Rewane Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, and demolished it.

He also told that in the course of demolishing the said property, the suspect attempted to kill one Alhaja Halima Abubakar, and her 91 years old mother, and also carted away £7000, $5000 and N5million as well as some jewellery.

CSP Asuquo, further informed the suspect had on several occasions invaded police invitations on the allegations, but was recently arrested following an arrest warrant issue against by by chief Magistrate O. O. Oshin. He therefore urged the court to grant the application.

After listened to the submission if the prosecutor, the presiding magistrate, Abimbola Komolafe (Mrs.), ordered the remand of the suspect in prison custody for the first 30 days pending when the DPP will issue an advice on the matter. The matter has been adjourned till June 30.
