ST. PETERSBURG, Moscow, Russia – At least 9 people have been confirmed dead and 50 others wounded when terrorist group detonated an explosive at St Petersburg train station in Moscow.




Russian media reported that passengers ran from the smoke filled train after the explosion.A spokesman for the National Anti-terrorist Committee said that the bomb was planted in one of the cars i. the station.

“So far, we say it was an unidentified explosive device as investigators and the Federal Security Service’s bomb specialists are to establish the exact cause of this explosion,” Andrei Przhezdomsky told the state-run Russia 24.

He said the evacuation of the subway was complete. Russia’s Prosecutor General’s office called the explosion in the St. Petersburg subway a terrorist attack.

The explosion, according to Russia media took place in a tunnel between the Sennaya Ploshchad and Tekhnologichesky Institute stations.
