18 INDIANS RESCUED FROM HUMAN TRAFFICKING SYNDICATES

MALAYSIA – Not less than 18 Indians have been rescued from human trafficking syndicates by the Malaysian police.




Among the rescued are five children, the police said in a statement, addimg that they were all rescued from an oil palm plantation in Kampung Tasek, Pengkalan Hulu, Perak.

“The victims comprised 11 children, including six women, aged between 27 to 64 years, two boys aged 13 and 17 years and five children aged between two and seven years”, the police said and that they also arrested a couple aged 44 and 27, believed to be the mastermind of the syndicate.

“A total of 18 individual Indians, including five children believed to be victims of human trafficking syndicates were rescued by the police in an operation carried out in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Tasek, Pengkalan Hulu, Perak.

“The victims comprised 11 children, including six women, aged between 27 to 64 years, two boys aged 13 and 17 years and five children aged between two and seven years.Police also arrested a couple aged 44 and 27, believed to be the mastermind of the syndicate”, the police said.
