MOSCOW, Russia – The Appeal Court in Moscow, Russia has granted Russian Prosecutor the leave to liquidate activities of Jehovah’s Witnesses(JW) in Russia after branding them extremist group.

The JW had appealed the decision and tried to establish that the accusations of “extremist activity” are based on fabricated evidence and false statements that have been manufactured by local authorities to portray sincere worship as criminal activity.

In the October 12, 2016, hearing, Judge M. S. Moskalenko of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow did not allow testimony or video that exposed the illegal actions of the local authorities who are bent to ensuring that JW do not exist in Russia.

However, on January 16, 2017, the Moscow City Court dismissed the Witnesses’ appeal that challenged the legality of the Prosecutor General’s warning issued against their national headquarters.

The three-judge panel rejected all arguments filed by the Witnesses’ attorneys and rendered its decision after a 10-minute recess. The decision upholds the October 12, 2016, Tverskoy District Court decision that ruled in favor of the Prosecutor General’s Office. The warning, dated March 2, 2016, is now enforceable. Speaking before the hearing, International human rights lawyer James Andrik spoke of the implication.

“If the Moscow City Court dismisses the appeal, the Prosecutor General’s Office could act on its threat against the Administrative Center. It could liquidate the Administrative Center and further harass the religious communities of Jehovah’s Witnesses and restrict their worship throughout Russia. If, on the other hand, the court upholds the appeal, it would be a breakthrough for justice”, he said.

However Jehovah’s Witnesses are a peaceful group who hold their worship in the open and denounce all sorts of religious extremism. They believe in the Bible which also encourages them to respect secular authority. It is now left to the world to appeal to President Vladimir Putin to halt this attempt to wipe out witnesses from Russia.

  • And the world is ruled by Satan. So this is likely the end of the WTBTS (Watchtower Bible And Tract Society) dwelling in all of Russia……..

    • No, it’s not the end of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia or anywhere else. No human government is more powerful than Jehovah God!

      • Hang on to that thought as the WTBS is being sued the world over. It is the end of this religion. THANK GOD! I was a member for over 30 years and thankfully escaped the abuse.

        • U are so ungrateful of your life nd not respect to others all the things that suppose you learn in your life was a mess in your life. ….nobody is best than other

        • U are so ungrateful of your life nd not respect to others all the things that suppose you learn in your life was a mess in your life. ….

        • You’re obviously an idiot or stupid because you didn’t learn anything. There are some people who can go through life and miss the entire point… Heaven help us all !!! Reasoning and Common Sense is totally missing! People have no other recourse but GOD!!!!

        • Jehovah has always been and will always Be. I joyfully serve him everyday If you suffered “abuse” what kind was it? and why would you for 30 years? If you didn’t want to serve him by his standards and rules you should have left. Praying you search your heart for the true God.

      • Did you actually read the 2016 service report, and in particular the Russian Report? There are 2500 less preaching this service year than 2015. How do you feel that shows God is blessing the witnesses in Russian?

        • They still have spiritual food. He will never forsaken them. We have people in prison because they serve Jehovah, he still blesses them. Look what people did to Jesus Christ. Do you not think he was blessed by Jehovah God, his heavenly Father?

      • Nothing is going to stop Jehovah God and his purpose or the Now Reigning son of God Jesus Christ! And the coming of God’s Kingdom in which the Lord’s prayer teaçhes us to pray for in which Jesus Christ died so that we can have a chance to live forever!

  • Not extremist? Shunning own family members, cover up of child abuse proven by Australia royal commission and violation of the human rights act itself by not allowing members to freely leave a religion?

    I’ll let you decide.

    • Do you know what/ Sometimes, disfellowshipping (not shunning) is the method by which the person has time to decide if they are going to leave or if they might, instead, alter their current course and return.

If they simply let people leave without expressing concern and without ever talking to them about it, that would certainly be shunning. So, first you complain and say they do shun and then you complain and say they don’t let people just leave, which is the exact opposite of shunning.

      Disfellowshipping is not shunning.

The fact is that all organizations including employers and schools, have rules to follow, the internal handling of delicate affairs that could publicly embarrass everyone involved with the idea that they would only prosecute if it could not be handled internally, which means they also have some version of penalizing or removing the person for a time due to their actions and they make attempts to reintegrate the person back into their society or, if it cannot be done, then the person is dismissed or chooses to leave and is no longer a part o the organization and is no longer welcome at their meetings.

Even the police have an Internal Affairs department so that when police officers go whack y or are accused of crimes they can be investigated, preferably without dragging the name of the police department, etc. through the mud until and unless it becomes absolutely necessary to make it public. Families do it, schools do it, all religious groups do it .. sometimes it is handled well and sometimes it is handled poorly. But, it is not extremism.

Therefore, none of the things you have mentioned, which you have over-simplified and downright fibbed about in one case, are valid points by which to judge extremism.

Your attitude is far more extremist, as you are basically saying all Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia deserve to be oppressed and possibly killed outright for their beliefs, simply because some few in Australia handled a matter incorrectly, from what you know of the matter and as it was reported in the mainstream press, who are very prejudiced against Jehovah’s Witnesses to the point that they reported such things as an accident on a job site as high crime and that Jehovah’s Witnesses were attacking people when the video clearly showed that Jehovah’s Witnesses were being attacked, including having the door to their meeting hall broken down, being threatened with bombs and getting beat on by the fists of their attackers.

You really should do more research.

      • The result of disfellowshipping is shunning by the whole congregation. Friends and family who were once close are now told them must shun or totally ignore the disfellowshipped one. The only exception is if they are part of your immediate family living in the same house. And even then, they are told to keep their distance as much as possible to show the shunned one that they really need to repent and come back.

        • I am currently disfellowshipped and do not think this way. It’s like some of my friends/people I know who do stuff, for example cheat on there spouses, I choose to stay away from them because I disagree with what they are doing. One day I’ll be back and hopefully not do stupid stuff. But I do not hold it against them. I have read the Bible several time through.

      • I was, and on paper still am a Jehovah’s Witness, and if one does the research and reads the innermost doctrines of the religion it is quite easy to see that “extreme” is actually an understatement. If you choose to leave they dis-fellowship you anyway and all friends and family do shun you even if you don’t break any of the rules. Its mostly because of fear cause if you talk to someone who is no longer a witness you too will soon be cast out as well. It can and often does break up families, I have seen it firsthand. Oh and not to mention that everyone who isn’t associated with or is not a witness will be destroyed by God. Yes they have rules to follow but they also have their own judicial system and handle all matters themselves which is why so many have been hurt by the child abuse cases and scandals over the years, which i might add have not just happened a few times. Sexual predators can and do knock on your doors to preach their message, have you let one in the house? You wouldn’t actually know if you did, makes you feel great about letting the well dressed folks inside around the children. How about an ex-convict? He may not even be baptized yet but will knock on the door to talk, and in they come fresh out of jail for burglary sitting on your couch, bible in hand talking about God’s kingdom. Again, I know this happens as I have been there in person and have seen it all myself. Is it right that they are abused and beat and at times killed for what they are doing, NO, unfortunately they bring it on themselves knowing these things will happen if they continue to preach, the religion brainwashes you into doing the very things you are beat and killed for cause if you don’t you have no place in their new world. Tell others to do research that is good, but do some yourself as well. Go study and become one and find out the truth for yourself. Read the elders book also, and research the history of the religion, its quite interesting to say the least.

        • Seperating from evildoers, preaching to people door to door, having knowledge from the bible. Sounds like dont like Jesus much! Cause those are things he did. Jehovah will fix all of this!

        • Mr. Lee, your assessment is full of wonderments. You talked of research, yet, your conclusion is drawn from a minor premise. The fact that few individuals committed the crime alleged, does not mean that the Witnesses arranged for the crime to be committed. That is why following the Bible’s command at First Corinthians chapter 5 ( which of course, you do not appreciate), attracts disfellowshipping if the circumstance calls for it.

Furthermore, one can detect from your argument that this forum has become an avenue to play a revenge story. It is said in law that equity will not allow a person to Approbate and repprobte. In the first instance, you complained about the Witnesses’ mode of isolating persons found wanting and proceeded to criminal acts perpetrated by few wrongdoers. At that point, I was wondering what people of your kind stand for ( of course, I already understood your aim), eating your cake and having it.

On the issue of not reporting to the authorities when an alleged crime is committed, I know of someone who presently is in prison for what he did wrong.

On the issue of child molesters preaching from house to house you raised, this is the actual problem. There is a proverb that says :when a thief sees a man standing in a dark place, he is likely to conclude that the man is a theif. The problem is not fear of the unknown, but what is known already-a heart poisoned by endemic suspicion occasioned by hatred.

On the issue whether the assessment from you should be taken seriously, the answer is no. Why this conclusion?. For one thing, I committed acts unscriptural in the year 2014 and was disfellowshipped. I was reinstated November 2015. Does this make me a better man? Absolutely! And I more than ever support the Bible’s view point on EVERY issue, the “extremist” view by “analysts”.Therefore, those who had undergone this “painful” but objective-driven training, although learned, but stay put, not because their family will desert them,( since my family members are not Witnesses), can make an argument devoid of bias .

On the issue whether the Russian Government will overcome the work of the Witnesses, I would say stand and watch. Adolf Hitler during WWII boasted of eliminating the Witnesses and of course, he killed many. If I should ask you Hitler’s whereabout , including his vestiges in Germany today, maybe you will remain mute. While Hitler committed suicide, the Witnesses there still flourish in Germany. Jehovah does not promise his servants quick recovery in Russia and elsewhere, but one thing is sure: NO GOVERNMENT CAN THWART JEHOVAH’S PURPOSE.

My prayer is that Jehovah keeps you alive to see how opposer’s will be defeated.

        • Pingersgal, Alan, and Lee, Do you believe in Jesus? Well Jesus was persecuted, beaten, and killed for teaching others about gods kingdom, they told lies against Jesus just as you and others have told against us. Jesus said that his people would be persecuted just as he was. You know nothing about Jehovahs Witnesses, I was raised from birth as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and I can assure you that if someone touches a child he would be handled in the congregation and it would be turned over to the authorities. Disfellowshipping!! Well once again you know nothing about this because if you did ,you would know that the Elders do everything they can to help a person to change a bad course they may be headed into, but if the person does not want to live as the Bible states we should then they are disfellowshipped and this is so the congregation stays clean. Since you know so much about Jehovah’s Witnesses, you are aware that we live by the Bible which is gods word not mans, and the Bible says Bad association spoils useful habits, so there’s the reason people are disfellowshipped. The only reason a person is disfellowshipped is because they are unrepentant and do not want to live by gods standards.

        • I choose to leave and was inactive for 10 years and I was never disfellowshiped!and when I came back they recived me with kindness and gave me advice with the Bible!and I recived that advice(from the scriptures)and put it in practice and now I have the best life I’ve ever had!im really happy I came back

        • If you leave the Org., you not get disfellowship, you just leave because you wanted to. However, it is not a matter reference to any brother or sister or anyone else. It’s a matter of Loyalty to Jehovah and Jesus Christ, and the Org., If you want to serve Satan, the false religion and it’s org., you are free to go!!! But do not make false statements. Thanks!!!!!!!!

    • Nothing holds your to the religion you can chose not to practice. And family members are not shunned, child abuse allegations are not covered up but are to be reported to law enforcement. If someone chooses not to report that on them but don’t judge an entire religion on 1 or 2 allegations.

      • Child abuse is not reported to law enforcement. Rapes are not. Abuse runs rampant in this religion. I was a member for over 30 years and saw all of this first hand.

        • Were you an Elder? The elders are the only ones who know about serious wrong doing, so I’m more sure now then before that you know absolutely nothing about The Organization Of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I pity you and I look forward to Armageddon when the truth will finally be made know to all. DO YOU!!

    • Hi, I was just curious in seeing proof for your claims of child abuse and violation of the human rights act?

    • This may have been your case but it certainly is not the norm. I have been around 36 years and part of at least 10 congregations in the USA over those years and I have never seen or heard of one insident of rape or child abuse.

    • Do you even read the Bible to know what it says about association with those who denounce God’s view they once cherished? Maybe you do not even have a copy. Needless asking.

    • Please tell me how they don’t allow them to leave freely? I have never heard of them forcing anyone to come to a meeting.Jehovah God gave all of us free will. Who are we to take it away? If I join a club, move into an apartment, or go to a restaurant because I like the rules. Would I continue to go if they changed the rules and it was no longer a good place for me? No! The same goes for Jehovah Gods organization. I love the way it is kept clean, If you don’t want to live by God’s holy standards it isn’t the place for you. None of us are perfect but our meetings teach us how to live as clean a life spiritually as we can in satan’s world. We must work hard to stay clean. I want to be a part of this clean, loving world wide brotherhood. All thanks go to Jehovah God.

  • Russia may close down places of worship and make ministry work against the law, but it can not stop people from worshiping God. When Jehovah’s Witnesses were exiled to Siberia, their numbers grew in leaps and bounds. Thoughts and beliefs can not be controlled. This is not the first rodeo for Witnesses in Russia. They will survive and thrive.

    • Yes!! This is not the first time, Adolf Hitler also did the same but were is he today? Jehovah’s witnesses are peace loving people, our prayers all over the world will be heard by our almighty God Jehovah. Those of you who hate jw and say all sorts of baseless things will be put to shame. Jw Ar not extremists.

    • No one can control your thoughts and beliefs???,
Yes they can, your governing body controls your thoughts and beliefs ….your just unable to see it.

      • Jethro, Once again someone specks without having facts. The governing body just deliver gods word to us and to keep us spiritually feed. We choose weather we want to believe or not. God gave all mankind, and even the angles free will. I have been very proudly one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and I could not think living any other way. You speck of the governing body, are You disfellowshipped?

      • You are mistaken. Jehovah gave us each free will. We chose to accept the governing body as Gods channel based on our own deductions. But they don’t claim to be inspired. Only the Bible is inspired. Because we have freely chosen this way of life and it makes us happy…what part of that cant you stand?

    • The Jehovah’s Witnesses have been able to inflate the number of their active members by gradually reducing the minimum number of monthly hours required to be considered an “Active Publisher”. These “minimum” hours went from 8 hours to 4 hours to 2 hours to 1 hour to 30 minutes way down to a mere15 minutes per month. All just to show supposed “growth” in their ranks. Really pathetic.

    • Hi B ! Interesting is that article on jworg. But also ironic statement is given by sentence, quote;
“Thus, near its conclusion the article states: “All religions have the Jehovah’s Witnesses to thank for the expansion of [religious] freedom.”
In WT JWorg “spiritual paradise” of these days and of future days after Armageddon there is not and there will be not any freedom for religion that is different or opposite of JWorg religion.
These battles that Legal Departments of WT fighting for “religious freedom” have just one purpose.

  • In my opinion, not a good idea to ban them legally. They will spin it as the beginning of the “Great Tribulation”, the period of persecution that they believe will precede Armageddon. Much better to publicize their ridiculous beliefs and the history of their doctrinal flip-flops. Ridicule and satire are much better weapons than a heavy boot.

  • Jesus said that just as he was hated, his true followers would also be hated since they are no part of the world John 15:19. So this action does not surprise us. Jehovah’s will is still going to be done.

  • Due to their shunning policy, I do not believe you can call this group a “peaceful” group. Still, banning them is probably the worst way to tackle the issue.

PS: They shun their close friends and family members when they leave their organization. For instance, a kid, raised a JW, baptized as one at 13, will loose all contacts with all of his friends and JW family the day he questions the “faithful slave”. Considering that they disfellowship about 1% of their members every year, this makes them a cult and consequently harmful.

    • You just post whatever u like without finding out. Disfellowshipping has a bases in the scriptures, if u want to leave nobody holds u. If uu or ur close friend have been a victim , something else is attached to it,don’t ascribe it to jw.

        • 11 But now I am writing you to stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do you not judge those inside, 13 while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked person from among yourselves.”Greek, por·neiʹa. See Glossary.Greek, por·neiʹa. See Glossary.Lit., “having.”Or “leavens.”Lit., “are unleavened.”Or “stop associating.”See Glossary, “Sexual immorality.”See Glossary, “Sexual immorality.”Or “stop associating.”See Glossary, “Sexual immorality.”Or “a verbally abusive person.”

          • Did you read the part where it says” anyone called a brother” ? If they no longer call themselves a brother? You go beyond the law just like the pharisees. Any more rules you’d like to just throw into the bible?

        • 1 Corinthians 5:11
But now I am writing you to stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man.

          That scripture is pretty clear.

        • 1 Corinthians 5: 11-13: 11 But now I am writing you to stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man. 12 For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Do you not judge those inside, 13 while God judges those outside? “Remove the wicked person from among yourselves

        • We do not automatically disfellowship someone who commits a serious sin. If, however, a baptized Witness makes a practice of breaking the Bible’s moral code and does not repent, he or she will be shunned or disfellowshipped. The Bible clearly states: “”Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.””—1 Corinthians 5:13.

    • Russia’s Decade-Long Attack on Religious Freedom Intensifies

On January 16, 2017, Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia will again seek to counter the decade-long tightening of restrictions on their religious freedom. They will ask the Moscow City Court to rule that a warning against their national headquarters be rescinded as unlawful and unfounded. The warning, issued on March 2, 2016, by Deputy Prosecutor General V. Ya. Grin, threatens to liquidate the Witnesses’ national headquarters if new evidence is discovered of “extremism” that has taken place within a year.
      The Hunt for Extremism

Russia’s prosecutors are misapplying the Federal Law on Counteracting Extremist Activity as the basis for charges of extremism against Jehovah’s Witnesses. After the law was modified in 2006, the definition of extremism no longer required appeals to violent acts, only “incitement of . . . religious discord.” This loose definition allows authorities to portray anything that contradicts the teachings of traditional religions or promotes another belief as inciting religious enmity. Gregory Allen, a lawyer assisting the defense of the Witnesses’ religious freedom in Russia, stated: “Russian authorities use this elastic definition to label as ‘extremist’ any religious beliefs they don’t consider orthodox.”

The hunt for “extremism” in some religious minorities began with a January 2007 letter from the Russian Federation’s Deputy Prosecutor General V. Ya. Grin to all prosecutors’ offices in the country. The letter’s call for investigations triggered more than 100 inspections against religious organizations of Jehovah’s Witnesses before the year’s end.

In 2015, the UN Human Rights Committee reiterated its previous recommendations that the Russian Federation “revise without undue delay the Federal Law on Combating Extremist Activity with a view to clarifying the vague and open-ended definition of ‘extremist activity,’ ensuring that the definition requires an element of violence or hatred and establishing clear and precise criteria on how materials may be classified as extremist. It should take all measures necessary to prevent the arbitrary use of the law and revise the Federal List of Extremist Materials.”—Human Rights Committee “Concluding Observations” on the Russian Federation, CCPR/C/RUS/CO/7, April 28, 2015, par. 20.

Producing the First Batch of “Evidence”

One of these inspections took place in the city of Taganrog, located on the Black Sea coast. The inspection formed the basis for nearly all other charges of extremism launched against Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia. By October 2007, the Rostov Regional Prosecutor’s Office concluded its investigation and issued a warning against the Local Religious Organization (LRO) of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Taganrog and the next year filed a claim to liquidate the LRO. However, the Prosecutor’s Office lacked incriminating evidence to support its claim and asked the Rostov Regional Court to order an “expert study” to examine the religious literature of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The court not only commissioned the “expert study,” despite the objection of the Witnesses, but also refused their requests to introduce independent research. The court’s experts unanimously concluded in their report that the Witnesses’ religious literature did not incite hostile actions. Nonetheless, the court focused on the experts’ opinions that theological discussion in the Witnesses’ literature had “the potential to undermine respect” for other religions.

By stretching the definition of “extremism,” on September 11, 2009, the Rostov Regional Court ruled to declare 34 Witness publications “extremist,” and these were eventually placed on the Federal List of Extremist Materials (FLEM). The court also declared the Taganrog LRO “extremist” and ordered federal authorities to liquidate it, ban its activity, place its name on a list of extremist organizations, confiscate its religious literature, and turn over its property to the Russian Federation. On December 8, 2009, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation upheld the decision, making it final. *

By the start of 2016, similar court actions had declared 88 religious publications “extremist” and liquidated three LROs. Another 18 LROs were under investigation. Additionally, federal authorities banned and blocked jw.org, the official website of Jehovah’s Witnesses, denied the import of all their religious literature, and subjected the Bible to scrutiny as “extremist” literature.

“Evidence” Leveraged to Strike the National Headquarters

In March 2016, the Prosecutor General’s Office used the accumulated “evidence” to support its warning against the Witnesses’ national headquarters, known as the Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Russia, located near St. Petersburg. The prosecutor tied the Administrative Center to the banned religious literature and to the LROs that were under investigation or had been liquidated, stating: “Signs of extremism continue to be discovered in the activities of the structural subdivisions of the Administrative Center.”

Soon after receiving the warning, the Witnesses requested the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Yuriy Yakovlevich Chayka, to rescind the warning. Rather, he upheld it and reasoned that “arguments regarding fabrication of evidence and other abuses that supposedly took place during the inspections conducted by law enforcement agencies are not grounds to rescind the warning, because the warning is based on court decisions.” Mr. Allen observed: “Apparently, the Prosecutor General believes that a Russian court can legalize any falsified evidence made up by unscrupulous officers of the law. I recall the Moscow court decision that produced an illegal ban on Jehovah’s Witnesses in that city and that was later struck down by the European Court of Human Rights.” *

After the Prosecutor General’s decision, the Witnesses filed a claim against the warning in the Tverskoy District Court in Moscow. On October 12, 2016, Judge M. S. Moskalenko refused to allow any witnesses or experts to testify at the hearing, and she dismissed the appeal.

These failed efforts leave the warning in effect. The Administrative Center is at risk of liquidation if the Prosecutor General’s Office can persuade courts that (1) the Witnesses’ LROs have continued to violate the extremism law, or (2) the authorities have found “new facts testifying to the presence of signs of extremism” in the actions of the Witnesses within a year of the warning having been served.

      Fabrication of “New Facts” Accelerates

From the time the warning was issued on March 2, 2016, Russian authorities have increased their efforts to deliberately invent “new facts.” There are 35 documented incidents (out of a total of more than 60 since 2012) when authorities invented a “crime” by planting religious literature that Jehovah’s Witnesses had stopped using. The investigative searches that discover the “evidence” are often accompanied by aggressive actions by police and special police forces.

On July 28, 2016, two raids targeted Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Republic of Karelia. In Petrozavodsk, armed, masked men from the Special Police Force arrived at a Kingdom Hall and disrupted a meeting for worship. The police planted five copies of the book What Does the Bible Really Teach? in the building and later “discovered” them during a search. The officials never presented the Witnesses with a court order authorizing the raid and search of the premises. In Kostomuksha, officers from the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Center for Counteracting Extremist Activity disrupted a religious meeting. During a search of the Kingdom Hall, they “found” three Witness publications cataloged on the FLEM.
On August 20, 2016, law-enforcement officers disrupted a meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the city of Mayskiy, Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria. After forcibly evacuating everyone from the Kingdom Hall, the officers “found” planted literature cataloged on the FLEM inside the premises. The authorities presented no documents or authorization papers during the raid.
On September 20, 2016, armed, masked men from the Special Police Force arrived early in the morning at the Kingdom Hall in Nezlobnaya, Stavropol Territory. To enter the building, they cut off the doors and then planted several Witness publications cataloged on the FLEM. The officers “discovered” these publications during their subsequent search.

      Incrimination Process

The pattern of incriminating Jehovah’s Witnesses on extremism charges generally involves the same moves, as illustrated in events involving the Witnesses’ LRO in the city of Birobidzhan:

Step 1: Law-enforcement officers go to the Witnesses’ house of worship and plant Witness religious literature cataloged on the FLEM.
Police and FSB officers interrupted religious services of Jehovah’s Witnesses, claimed the meeting was illegal, and then announced a search for “extremist materials.”
Step 2: Law-enforcement officers search the building and “discover” the banned literature.
The officers “found” 12 publications cataloged on the FLEM. The Witnesses later established that a stranger had come to the building prior to the meeting and apparently had hidden the “evidence.”
Step 3: The prosecutor charges the LRO of Jehovah’s Witnesses or its chairman with an administrative violation for distributing extremist materials and imposes a fine.
The district court ruled that the chairman of the LRO was guilty of an administrative violation and fined him 4,000 rubles ($66.88 U.S.).
Step 4: The prosecutor issues a warning to the LRO not to repeat the alleged violation within a 12 month period.
The prosecutor issued a warning that engaging in “extremist activity” is prohibited.
Step 5: Sometime thereafter, law-enforcement officers return to the place of worship, again plant banned Witness publications inside the premises, and then “find” them during a search.
Officers interrupted a religious meeting to inspect the building for “extremist materials.” However, the Witnesses had found planted literature during a premeeting inspection and disposed of it, so this October 2015 attempt at fabrication of evidence was fruitless. On January 21, 2016, the officers were better prepared. Special police forces, police, and FSB officers again interrupted religious services of Jehovah’s Witnesses and announced a search of the building for “extremist materials.” One of Jehovah’s Witnesses in attendance saw a package of literature in an officer’s hands. Another officer searched an area already inspected, but this time without attesting witnesses, and “found” that package of literature.
Step 6: Based on this new fact of alleged extremist activity, the prosecutor’s office or Ministry of Justice files a claim in court to liquidate the LRO.
The district court declared that the LRO chairman was guilty of an administrative violation and fined him 3,000 rubles ($50.16 U.S.). On October 3, 2016, the regional court ruled that “new facts testifying to signs of extremism in the LRO’s activity were discovered” and declared the Birobidzhan LRO “extremist,” banned its activity, and ordered its liquidation.
As a final step in the process, the Russian Federation Supreme Court has upheld trial court decisions liquidating the Witnesses’ LROs as “extremist organizations,” most recently the Belgorod LRO, Stariy Oskol LRO, Elista LRO, and Orel LRO. The Witnesses’ appeal in defense of the Birobidzhan LRO is pending with the Supreme Court.

What Does It Mean? Where Will It End?

Vasiliy Kalin, a representative from the Administrative Center, recalled the time when his family was exiled to Siberia during the Soviet era as victims of religious persecution: “When I was growing up, the authorities could come to the Witnesses’ homes at any time to search for religious publications. But it never occurred to them to plant the publications in our homes and then discover the material. This new tactic by Russia’s law-enforcement authorities is proof that they still cannot find any factual basis for charging Jehovah’s Witnesses with unlawful activity.”

On January 16, 2017, the Moscow City Court is expected to hear the appeal of Jehovah’s Witnesses against the Prosecutor General’s warning and render its decision. Will it acknowledge that the Prosecutor General’s Office had no basis for accusing the Administrative Center of Jehovah’s Witnesses with extremist activity and cancel the warning? Jehovah’s Witnesses and people who value human rights in Russia and around the globe hope so.

      • Our prayers are with you brothers and sisters, may Jehovah God comfort you and keep your faith strong!

    • Shunning does not make a religion a cult. They strive to perserve their beleifs and keep the congregation free from reproach. If an individual no longer supports or follows the tenants and teachings or actively tries to influence others away, it is they who have made the choice to alienate themselves.

Are Witnesses perfect? Far from it, but God has used many flawed individuals throughout history. Their flaws are not an indictment of God or the organization that represents his people on earth. I am not a Witness and speak freely as an observer and someone who knows many of these fine peoples.

    • I feel sorry for you…you must have a sad and pathetic life to spread such hateful lies…try and get a life hunny!

    • There has NEVER been any JW removed from being a witness for 1) asking questions. No one has been Shunned for leaving. If they or anyone else wants to practice sin, why would you want to associate with them?

      • If you practice sin then you shun and if you leave you practice sin. So you are shunning the sinner for leaving. Plain and simple.

  • Jehovah’s witnesses are far from being a harmless group.
They’re a high control cult that breaks up families by their practice of extreme shunning of family members who leave the cult… including their own children.
Many former members have been driven to suicide by the inhumane treatment

  • Sorry to see this happening, wondering who’s next. I’m an atheist but I like freedom. Another bad thing is that the Watchtower Society was becoming very mediocre and now they’ll feel martyrdom status.

    • Jehovah’s witnesses are not Christian. They do not follow Jesus Christ. They follow the 7 evil men in Brooklyn NY , and Jehovah, “the god of wickedness and mischief”! Google it yourself.

      • English
Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe in Jesus?
Yes. We believe in Jesus, who said: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) We have faith that Jesus came to earth from heaven and gave his perfect human life as a ransom sacrifice. (Matthew 20:28) His death and resurrection make it possible for those exercising faith in him to gain everlasting life. (John 3:16) We also believe that Jesus is now ruling as King of God’s heavenly Kingdom, which will soon bring peace to the entire earth. (Revelation 11:15) However, we take Jesus at his word when he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” (John 14:28) So we do not worship Jesus, as we do not believe that he is Almighty God

        What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Believe?

  • President Putin has become what they faught against during world war two. If they do this to Jehovah’s Witnesses, then they are just like the nazi’s.
Jehovah’s witnesses are not a threat against Russia, they teach a peaceable way of life.
What they need to do is look at past history to see what happened to those who were enemies of God’s people.
Like when an angle whipped out 185000 Assyrian soldiers, or when Pharaoh went out after Moses when the Israelites left egypt, and they were killed at the red see.
Just saying, Satan uses a lot of human rulers to try and get rid of God’s people

    • Joseph L wrote: “Jehovah’s witnesses are not a threat against Russia, they teach a peaceable way of life.
What they [the Russian government] need to do is look at past history to see what happened to those who were enemies of God’s people.”

You went from “peaceable” to veiled threats against Russia in about 1 microsecond.

      • Jehovah’s Witnesses are not just in Russia. They are worlwide community who adhere as to what the Bible teaches. They don’t want to join in army to kill their fellow human, they wanted to follow Jesus to love their fellow human… some times people don’t understand them because of their Bible’s stands…

    • Hi Joseph,

Your comments are wrong based your information you provided. You have not provided any evidence such 185,000 solider were killed in one night. I will say that there no physical evidence to show this every happened. Just your Governing Body of Jehovah Witnesses that claim to the same as the valley of the dead bones check out LETT’s video on their channel JW.org. What a joke of comments.

      Concern Group

      • Do you read the Bible? The Bible gives the whole account of the Assyrian Army being wiped out at Jerusalem, read you Bible that’s the only way to obtain accurate knowledge, because you are speaking nonsense.

    • Would that be an obtuse or isosceles angle that killed the assyrians?! Why can’t any of you Jehovah’s witnesses spell? The lack of education on here is shocking!!

  • JW’s are extremists. I was a JW for 49 years. But now, because I no longer want to be in a mind control cult my mom has shunned me for 4 years. The shunning policy the JW’s enforce is horrible. Members are dying for refusing blood tansfusions and the suicide rate among Jehovah’s Witnesses is very high

  • The anti-blood transfusion dogma of the Jehovah’s Witnesses makes it dangerous to its own members when they require blood transfusions, whether due to traumatic insult, childbirth (Jehovah’s Witness pregnant women have a far higher rate of death in childbirth due to this religious edict) or vital, major surgery.

In addition, the Jehovah’s Witnesses perform no materially beneficial acts of charity to the population at large, claiming instead that “teaching people about the bible” – their version of the bible – is the greatest act of charity they can perform.

Meanwhile their leadership has raked in profits of well over a billion dollars just in the last two years from sales of their remaining Brooklyn properties.

I suspect that Russia would have been far more effective at limiting that group’s activities if it had taxed the organization at a higher rate in order to make up for the organization’s lack of charity that might provide real, physical comfort and support to the population at large.

    • 20 but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.
      (Acts 15:20)

    • It is not a JW dogma against taking blood transfusions, it is scriptural. Instead of vilifying the witnesses because of it, you can look at the medical benefits of not accepting blood. Our stand on the blood issue has forced medical standards to improve, not just for us, but for everyone else. If it’s a life of death situation, there is no guarantee that blood can save the life. But since it’s a command from Jehovah to abstain, it’s better to die faithful and gain the reward of resurrection and eternal life in paradise, than to be disobedient to Jehovah, live a few more years in this wicked world only y to be put to death at Armageddon for or disobedience. The whole blood argument is worn out and has been pointless with all of the medical knowledge available.

Charity? Really? Charity is a personal matter to each individual, not the organization. Myself and others have given financially to different charities so you really don’t have a leg to stand on with your misinformed complaints. You really need to learn to real facts instead of spreading lies and half truths.

    • Jehovah’s Witnesses who refuse blood transfusions after cardiac surgery at no greater health risk

Please note “After matching the patients up by similar cases, researchers found both groups had similar risks for dying at the hospital. However, Witnesses had lower chances of having additional operations for bleeding, renal failure and sepsis compared with non-Witnesses who received transfusions.
“It behooves us to examine more closely some Jehovah Witness processes of care and implement them in our routine surgeries,” study author Dr. Colleen Koch, a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, said to HealthDay.
Witnesses spent less time in the intensive care unit and less time in the hospital than the other group. They also had higher survival rates compared to the people who were non-witnesses at 95 percent and 89 percent respectively. Both groups had close 20-year survival rates (34 percent versus 32 percent).
According to the Mayo Clinic, blood transfusions can cause a number of health complications, including allergic reactions, fevers, lung injury, spread of bloodborne infections and acute immune hemolytic reaction – a rare transfusion reaction in which a person’s body attacks the new blood because it’s not the proper type. But, HealthDay points out that screening techniques introduced in the 1990s have made it safer than it previously was. ”

    • “For it seemed good to the holy spirit and to ourselves not to add any additional burden to you except the following things which are necessary: that ye may continue to abstain from things sacrificed to idols, and from BLOOD, and from strangled things And of fornication: if ye keep these things carefully, ye shall prosper: good health unto you. ”
ACTS 21:25 “As for believers among the nations, we have warned, by giving our decision, that they keep what is sacrificed to idols, as well as blood and strangled, and fornication”
Above it speaks of abstaining from blood as well as refraining from fornication. If “abstaining” in these texts meant only not eating, then we should obligatorily understand that we could not “eat” fornication either. To abstain is to abstain. The meaning is too obvious
In that apostolic age there was no transfusion, but do you think that if they offered this to the early Christians they would accept it? Certainly not!!
Imagine if a doctor told you to abstain from alcohol, but the next day you go to your office and tell him that he did not drink a drop of rum but injected it into the vein. Would the doctor agree with his attitude ??
Men without faith in God argue that the principles of righteousness and law, no matter how good, can be put aside when a person’s life is at stake. Even religious leaders come together to say that the application of God’s laws can be suspended to save a life. But this is not godly reasoning. This is based only on the charge made by Satan the Devil when he said to God, “ALL HOW MAN SHALL GIVE FOR HIS LIFE.” (Job 2: 4) Satan was confident that men would abandon God when obedience seemed to put them at personal risk
We must obey what the Creator tells us even though it is difficult for us. That is where true Christian integrity is: To follow not only the easy commandments that are convenient for us, but all !!
And surely the biblical text that you and many others use to be distorted by claiming that God teaches us to donate blood is John 15: 12-13. This text tells us that no one has greater love than he who surrenders his soul (soul is blood – Leviticus 17: 11-14) in favor of his friends, that is, surrender our blood for our friends, right?
OF COURSE NOT ! In Leviticus, it is explained that the soul of the – flesh – is its blood, that is, soul in the sense of life, because as we know, soul and life, are the same thing.
The Bible does not state in any way that soul and blood are the same thing
And worst of all, it is still to conclude that the text of John 15: 12-13 means that we must surrender, or donate blood for anyone else.
The text of John in question speaks of an example that Jesus provided and was to be followed by his disciples, that is, as he would give his Soul (life) in favor of humanity, his followers should do the same for him, necessary case.
Let us never forget that Jesus represented the Word of God (John 1: 1)
See also Matthew 10: 38, 39 and Daniel 3: 1-30, which confirms the priority in obeying the commandments (Word) of God, even in the face of death! Take the case of the 3 Hebrews, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3: 1-30. They preferred to risk death, to disobey God!
Therefore, we will be friends of Jesus only if we do what he told us to do, under any circumstance, for all his commandments came from his father, Jehovah. (John 15: 14,15)

  • Fuck Jehovah’s Witnesses. That is a totalitarian cult that is breaking up families, killing children, protecting pedophiles and spreading hatred.

    • One condition Jesus sets is this: “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”—John 13:34, 35.

Jesus requires his followers to have genuine love for one another and for the rest of mankind. Many individual Christians have fulfilled that condition during the centuries since Jesus walked the earth. But what about most of the religious organizations that have claimed to represent Christ? Has their history been marked by love? Certainly not. Instead, they have been in the forefront of countless wars and conflicts in which innocent blood has been spilled.—Revelation 18:24.

That has been true right up to modern times. Nations claiming to be Christian took the lead in the slaughter that marked the two world wars of the 20th century. More recently, members of so-called Christian churches were in the forefront of the savage atrocities and attempted genocide that took place in Rwanda in 1994. “Those who had turned against one another in this gory fashion,” writes former Anglican archbishop Desmond Tutu, “espoused the same faith. Most were Christian.”

    • you are very wrong to accuse jejovahs witnisses, they are a good people,i know them, they have a godly devotion, they libe in peace…they are not criminals .holding a deadly weapons are not allowed to thd jehovahs witnesses!

  • Jehovah’s Witnesses, as individuals, typically must be separated from their headquarters, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania, Inc, in order to see the individual’s kindness and peacefulness.

Jehovah’s Witnesses, in an of themselves, become extreme when following their headquarter’s extreme policies. So, it’s the policies that are extreme, not only in Russia, but in all countries where Jehovah’s Witnesses live

Just one of the extreme policies practiced by Jehovah’s Witnesses is a two witness policy which requires two people to have witnessed the rape of one of their children before their headquarters will act against the perpetrator. Either way, reporting the crime to proper authorities is not encouraged.

Another extreme policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses is extreme shunning family and friends who no believe all their teachings and leave the organization. Any former member who calls attention to the extreme policies are to be viewed by current members as “slain by Jehovah” or dead.

Another extreme policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses is their no whole blood policy. What should be an individual’s own personal medical decision to accept or not accept whole blood is over ruled by their headquarter’s policy on blood. It is extreme that an their headquarters have that kind of power to dictate medical treatment and remove a member from the organization if the member doesn’t follow the policy.

Another extreme policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses tells them that their organization is the only channel of communication with God, it is His mouthpiece and only those associated with that organization (currently 8 million members) won’t be destroyed along with the rest of the world’s 8 billion wicked people at Armageddon.

Another extreme policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses is that their headquarter’s attempts to control their information by discouraging internet use unless its approved websites are to be accessed. Headquarters also makes it hard to find many of its earlier publications which document its changes in teachings, proving it can’t be “God’s mouthpiece” or “The Truth” BOTH before AND after its changes.

Another extreme policy of Jehovah’s Witnesses is that their headquarters attempts to control their thoughts by outright telling them to “beware of independent thinking”. It is very extreme for headquarters to require its members to think just like itself or be shunned. Their headquarters even has its members thinking they don’t shun by the wording on its website about shunning. Their headquarters has them thinking they only avoid members who engage in gross violations of Biblical principles yet will also avoid members or former members who no longer believe all the teachings of the headquarters.

So, are Jehovah’s Witnesses extreme? Jehovah’s Witnesses are peaceful, kind, and loving as individuals until they display these extreme requirements. Looking past Jehovah’s Witnesses’ veneer, it’s their headquarter’s (Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc) policies which are extreme.

“If You Have Love Among Yourselves”

One condition Jesus sets is this: “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves.”—John 13:34, 35.

    • 20 but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.
      (Acts 15:20)

    • Instead of people spreading lies by going to apostate websites…you do better to actually talk to someone…or better yet read your bible.

    • Things are only exterem when it suits you .. whitnesses are anything but extremeist in the government status

    • I am truly sorry that someone has misinformed you or caused you to believe these things. I would feel the same as you if i had been convinced of them.

I have heard others make claim to what you said about child abuse. But that is not correct. When speaking to “two people” this refers to an adult who claims they witnessed another adult commiting gross sin. Instead of hastily disfellowshipping him, as others claim, there will be no action taken. In fact, ones are only removed when it has become clear that the person is an unrepentant sinner. In most cases ones who stumble, multiple times even, are not removed but instead counseled and offered comfort. Claims by a child, though, are different. The parents of the child are left to decide how to involve the authorities. The only judicial responsibility the congregation assumes is regarding the accused and his status in said comgregation. If, through their imvestigation, determine the accusation is in any way valid, the accused person is removed and the comgregation will advise the authorities, whether the parents decide to or not. If there were incidents where a congregation attempted to cover up something like this, the congregations elders are deleted and qualified men are relocated there to take their place. No one in the organization is beyond reproof, including members of the governing body.

Also, ones who question teachings are not punished but educated and encouraged. But one who makes the decision to be baptized as one of JW is fully aware of the seriousness of their dedication. That is one reason why JW do not pressure their young ones into dedication. Also, one is questioned before being baptized to be certain they fully understand what is involved. Also that their motives are not swayed by family acceptance. If one decides not to be baptized, whether they stay or leave the congregation, their relationship with their family and friends in the congregation continues. A water baptism is a covenant that God, as well as JW take seriously. Jw are more serious about Godly covenants, such as baptism and marriage, compared to other more popular groups. In most cases, baptized JW only slander the organization after being counseled about something unrelated and develop a haughty attitude. If the persons agenda is merely a disagreement in doctrine, they would just leave quietly as I have seen some do. The videos you see on youtube are usually the last of a long series of discussions between that person and the elders. The person is obsessed with proving them wrong, first because they keep returning time and again to debate instead of leaving peacefully. And second because they recorded a discussion that has no bearing on a legal matter. There are more examples of people who became of reasoning age and knew immediately they werent going to stay. Those people dont usually post youtube videos.

Also, while JW do teach that the wicked will be destroyed, according to scripture, they do not teach that all non JW are wicked. That is another misconception.

Also, while it may seem overly confident that JW believe there is only one channel for receiving spiritual direction, that is exactly what Jesus taught. He was clear that there is one path to everlasting life and also that he would appoint a faithful slave to feed his ppl. JW, closely examine what they are being taught, compared to what others are teaching to determine the identity of that slave. A lot christian religions say that is the first sign of a cult, but to say otherwise woulf contradict Christ. In fact, by most definitions of the word “cult” one could argue that Jesus and his apostles were a part of a cult known as “the way” in their day. One that was unpopular and often ridiculed.

To paraphrase the rest, independence is only discouraged in the sense that satan, adam and eve desired independence. Internet usage is not discouraged, most JW use social networking sites and more. The counsel, and most ppl would agree, is to be careful on the internet. And lastly the blood issue is scriptural as well. Bloodless surgery is becoming more and more popular in this age of medical science. Aside from that, JW fear God and not death in this system. Assuming we agree on the blood issue, to die for God is celebrated when found in bible accounts. Its also celebrated by the same ppl who consider JW extremists for trying to do the same. To be religiously extreme or radical, one would have to directly hurt or kill someone else in process of accepting their own death. To disagree would mean that stephen, daniel, his 3 companions, elijah, and even Christ were extremists

  • Comment… When parents allow their children to participate or join a military force or a militia group, realising it’s potential benefits, and the ultimate death, either in the Battle field or through acts of terrorism, the decision of these children are well supported by parents. the solder is ready to due and people don’t raise an eyebrow. Jehovah Witness encourage faith and obedience to God the giver of life, do you called them extremists?

    • jehovahs witnesses are good people….they encourage people to live in peace not in war! they encourage youth to value thier morality! they encourage people to habe faith in god..

    • When Jehovah’s Witnesses practice exrreme policies of their headquarters, the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc, then, they too can be viewed as exremist.

  • Jw only follow bible principles, not human philosophy, they based there teaching on the bible. They are not extremists. They peaceful and law abiding citizen. They obey God as ruler rather than men

      • Jehovah’s Witnesses as individuals can indeed be good, peaceful and polite. What is extreme is many of their headquarter’s policies. Those extreme policies which Jehovah’s Witnesses practice are the issue, not the people

    • Many Jehovah’s Witnesses as individuals can indeed be peaceful and law abiding. What is extreme is many of their headquarter’s policies. Those extreme policies which Jehovah’s Witnesses practice are the issue, not the people

  • Quote from JWorg, w01 5/15 p. 32;
“BEFORE you shut the door on a Jehovah’s Witness,” says an article in the newspaper USA Today, “pause to consider the shameful persecution they suffered not too long ago, as well as the rich contribution they have made to the First Amendment freedoms we all enjoy.”
Richard Ashe deposition and his WT lawyer calls for First Amendment in questioning about child molestetion cases told very much about “freedom”. After lawyer “objection” Richard was not in obligation to “defending The Truth” anymore. Extreme irony!
Political and religious extremism is what happening again and again.
In general all people want peace and freedom. In general JW members are peaceful. But they are not immune on extremism. Theirs shunning policy against disfellowshipped and dissociated members and other doctrinal teachings and instructions on some other issues are also extremism of some kind. Open or quiet “persecution” are in both structures, political and religious.

  • Luke 12 51 Do you think I came to give peace on the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. 52  For from now on there will be five in one house divided, three against two and two against three. 53  They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.”

    • Did Jesus say He would cause division within families or did he say Watch Tower Society would cause divisions within families?

  • I was raised a Jehovah’s Witness and left at 23. My loving grandparents who were very high up in the religion never turned their backs on me and helped me until the day they died. My inlaws who are in that religion help my husband and myself more than any other parents I know. You see everyone is different and has their own heart condition. Some listen to every word and some have thoughts and actions of their own. As far a the sexual abuse claims, is this not a problem in every religion and the world? The Catholic Church sure has there far share of priests who abuse children. In 23 years of going I never knew one person who had a problem with this. If there was a couple in Australia then how does that affect everyone? The Catholic Church has had numerous offenses in every country and tells woman not to use birth control. The JW organization does not concern themselves with woman’s birth control etc. Do you ever think that imperfect man distorts a religion from what it was originally supposed to be. There is no religion in the world that is free from man’s error. Going door to door is based on Matthew 24:14 to follow Jesus’footsteps and woman, children and men go. Unlike the Mormons who only allow Men to go, acting in a sexist fashion. When I was a teen I went with my friend to a Christian music performance and they started shaking and acting possesed, never been more scared. So you want to act like all religions don’t have things that are different, well they do. Went to a Catholic funeral a few years ago and was disgusted by the idolatry all over and the gold and shaking to scare away Demons. It is like the Catholic Church doesn’t even read the Bible as the furst commandment is to not worship Idols.

  • Dear brothers, we pray for you so that Jehovah will continue giving you the strength and courage to remain loyal to him despite the efforts of Satan to fail in their integrity. I encourage the new world to be at the gates. We feel like first-century disciples and apostles (Acts 5:29)

  • It’s funny how some in these comments say JW’s are not peaceful because of the matter of disfellowshipping.
It’s actually a principle acknowledged by even the Catholic religion. However, Catholics choose to ignore it. For the Catholic religion, there is no financial gain if they remove a member of their congregation. For them, there is no proper morality taught.
A disfellowshiped person is someone who was once a baptised member (meaning they dedicated their life in harmony with the very Bible principles each and every member accepts). They, however, acted against their personally chosen dedication and showed no remorse or repentance. This, their further actions would have further damaging effects to the rest if the congregation and family members, as they are working to keep their lives morally clean and in harmony with Bible principles. That disfellowshipped one can come back. They can attend meetings for the sake of benefiting their personal lives. And yes, baptised JW family members would not speak to them in general, they would not be ignored in times of crisis.
Most who complain about it are ones who are disfellowshipped and can’t take responsibility for their own personal actions. So they lash out at the entire JW organization, like a disgruntal ex-employee who got fired for stealing from the cash register or breaking other company rules.

  • My relatives always say that I am killing my time here at web, however I know I am getting experience every day by reading such good content.

  • JW are so not share the same beliefs as Christian Beliefs or catholic beliefs, my grandfather would run them off years ago

  • As Jehovah’s Witnesses, we strive to adhere to the form of Christianity that Jesus taught and that his apostles practiced. This article summarizes our basic beliefs.

God. We worship the one true and Almighty God, the Creator, whose name is Jehovah. (Psalm 83:18; Revelation 4:11) He is the God of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus.—Exodus 3:6; 32:11; John 20:17.
Bible. We recognize the Bible as God’s inspired message to humans. (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16) We base our beliefs on all 66 of its books, which include both the “Old Testament” and the “New Testament.” Professor Jason D. BeDuhn aptly described it when he wrote that Jehovah’s Witnesses built “their system of belief and practice from the raw material of the Bible without predetermining what was to be found there.” *
While we accept the entire Bible, we are not fundamentalists. We recognize that parts of the Bible are written in figurative or symbolic language and are not to be understood literally.—Revelation 1:1.

Jesus. We follow the teachings and example of Jesus Christ and honor him as our Savior and as the Son of God. (Matthew 20:28; Acts 5:31) Thus, we are Christians. (Acts 11:26) However, we have learned from the Bible that Jesus is not Almighty God and that there is no Scriptural basis for the Trinity doctrine.—John 14:28.
The Kingdom of God. This is a real government in heaven, not a condition in the hearts of Christians. It will replace human governments and accomplish God’s purpose for the earth. (Daniel 2:44; Matthew 6:9, 10) It will take these actions soon, for Bible prophecy indicates that we are living in “the last days.”—2 Timothy 3:1-5; Matthew 24:3-14.
Jesus is the King of God’s Kingdom in heaven. He began ruling in 1914.—Revelation 11:15.

Salvation. Deliverance from sin and death is possible through the ransom sacrifice of Jesus. (Matthew 20:28; Acts 4:12) To benefit from that sacrifice, people must not only exercise faith in Jesus but also change their course of life and get baptized. (Matthew 28:19, 20; John 3:16; Acts 3:19, 20) A person’s works prove that his faith is alive. (James 2:24, 26) However, salvation cannot be earned—it comes through “the undeserved kindness of God.”—Galatians 2:16, 21.
Heaven. Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, and the faithful angels reside in the spirit realm. * (Psalm 103:19-21; Acts 7:55) A relatively small number of people—144,000—will be resurrected to life in heaven to rule with Jesus in the Kingdom.—Daniel 7:27; 2 Timothy 2:12; Revelation 5:9, 10; 14:1, 3.
A woman and a little girl work together in a flower garden
Earth. God created the earth to be mankind’s eternal home. (Psalm 104:5; 115:16; Ecclesiastes 1:4) God will bless obedient people with perfect health and everlasting life in an earthly paradise.—Psalm 37:11, 34.

Evil and suffering. These began when one of God’s angels rebelled. (John 8:44) This angel, who after his rebellion was called “Satan” and “Devil,” persuaded the first human couple to join him, and the consequences have been disastrous for their descendants. (Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 5:12) In order to settle the moral issues raised by Satan, God has allowed evil and suffering, but He will not permit them to continue forever.
Death. People who die pass out of existence. (Psalm 146:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10) They do not suffer in a fiery hell of torment.
God will bring billions back from death by means of a resurrection. (Acts 24:15) However, those who refuse to learn God’s ways after being raised to life will be destroyed forever with no hope of a resurrection.—Revelation 20:14, 15.

A husband and wife and their two children spend time outdoors together
Family. We adhere to God’s original standard of marriage as the union of one man and one woman, with sexual immorality being the only valid basis for divorce. (Matthew 19:4-9) We are convinced that the wisdom found in the Bible helps families to succeed.—Ephesians 5:22–6:1.

Our worship. We do not venerate the cross or any other images. (Deuteronomy 4:15-19; 1 John 5:21) Key aspects of our worship include the following:
    Praying to God.—Philippians 4:6.
Reading and studying the Bible.—Psalm 1:1-3.
Meditating on what we learn from the Bible.—Psalm 77:12.
Meeting together to pray, study the Bible, sing, express our faith, and encourage fellow Witnesses and others.—Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 10:23-25.
Preaching the “good news of the Kingdom.”—Matthew 24:14.
    Helping those in need.—James 2:14-17.
Constructing and maintaining Kingdom Halls and other facilities used to further our worldwide Bible educational work.—Psalm 127:1.
    Sharing in disaster relief.—Acts 11:27-30.
A congregation meeting of Jehovah’s Witnesses
Our organization. We are organized into congregations, each of which is overseen by a body of elders. However, the elders do not form a clergy class, and they are unsalaried. (Matthew 10:8; 23:8) We do not practice tithing, and no collections are ever taken at our meetings. (2 Corinthians 9:7) All our activities are supported by anonymous donations.
The Governing Body, a small group of mature Christians who serve at our world headquarters, provides direction for Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide.—Matthew 24:45.

Our unity. We are globally united in our beliefs. (1 Corinthians 1:10) We also work hard to have no social, ethnic, racial, or class divisions. (Acts 10:34, 35; James 2:4) Our unity allows for personal choice, though. Each Witness makes decisions in harmony with his or her own Bible-trained conscience.—Romans 14:1-4; Hebrews 5:14.
Our conduct. We strive to show unselfish love in all our actions. (John 13:34, 35) We avoid practices that displease God, including the misuse of blood by taking blood transfusions. (Acts 15:28, 29; Galatians 5:19-21) We are peaceful and do not participate in warfare. (Matthew 5:9; Isaiah 2:4) We respect the government where we live and obey its laws as long as these do not call on us to disobey God’s laws.—Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29.
Our relationships with others. Jesus commanded: “You must love your neighbor as yourself.” He also said that Christians “are no part of the world.” (Matthew 22:39; John 17:16) So we try to “work what is good toward all,” yet we remain strictly neutral in political affairs and avoid affiliation with other religions. (Galatians 6:10; 2 Corinthians 6:14) However, we respect the choices that others make in such matters.—Romans 14:12.
