POLICE DISMISSED FOR ACTS OF DISHONESTY

LONDON, United Kingdom, A Police Constable attached to Camden borough has been dismissed following a Gross Misconduct Hearing.

PC Paul Gibbs, had a case to answer in respect of the Standards of Professional Behaviour under: ‘Honesty and Integrity’ and ‘Discreditable Conduct’.

It was alleged that PC Gibbs attended an incident on 12 March 2015 at Gray’s Inn Road, EC1, in response to a complaint of anti-social behaviour involving a group of three men talking loudly and drinking alcohol in the street beside a vehicle.




It was alleged that PC Gibbs, having seized the vehicle keys, lied about taking them and when questioned in an interview regarding his conduct, then lied to the interviewing officer about what he had said to a police operator.

The panel, having considered all of the evidence provided by the Appropriate Authority and representations from the officer found the case of gross misconduct proven. The hearing was on Monday, 16 January. The officer was dismissed without notice.
