Nigeria, Oct 5, 2016 – The Presidency has said that more jets in the Presidential Fleet will be offered for sales. The presidency made the clarification following the advertisement of two jets, Falcon 7x Executive jet and Hawker 4000 in the Presidential fleet for sale in newspapers.

Reacting to the development, Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu said the aircrafts were advertised based on directive from President Muhammadu Buhari as part of effort to cut down on waste.
He also alluded to the utterance of the President during his campaign to sell off some of the aircraft in the fleet and that his directive on government committee on the assignment is that he will like to see a more compact and reliable aircraft for the safe airlift of the President and other government officials that go on special mission.

He added that the exercise is by no means complete and that some of the aircraft will also be handed over to the Nigerian Air Force to boost their operation. There are about 9 jets in the Presidential fleet.
