Nigeria, Oct 24, 2016 – Governor Victor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has been commended for his commitment to eradicating Youth restiveness and crime through Sports and Youth empowerment schemes.

Chairman of Abia Warriors FC, High Chief Emeka Inyama Executive made the commendation in Umuahia when members of the Radio, Television, and Theatre Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) visited him. He described Governor’ Okezies vision as laudable and unprecedented.




Inyama stated that the essence of government’s involvement in football management was to curb the hydra headed societal menace of youth restiveness and crime which can mar good governance and security if not properly handled by providing gainful employment for the ever growing army of unemployed youth.

He implored RATTAWU to rise up and take their rightful place as a prominent and influential union as their job portfolio transverses the media, arts and culture.

Chief Inyama promised to donate a giant trophy for a 5- Aside Football Competition to be contested among the State RATTAWU Chapters on annual basis with a redemption fee of Fifty Thousand Naira for the winners of the Trophy.

In his response, the State Chairman of RATTAWU, Comrade Lewachi Arinze eulogized. Chief Inyama for his visionary skill in Sports Marketing and Management.

He described Chief Inyama as a rare symbol of hope to the Youths as a beacon for aspiring to higher positions in life.
Comrade Arinze commended Chief Inyama for leading Abia Warriors FC from the lower leagues to the elite Nigeria Professional Football League and prayed that the club would pick one of the tickets to represent Nigeria in Africa next season.
