OBAMA ELEVATES JAMES FOGGO, WILLIAMS LESCHER TO VICE ADMIRALS

Washington, Sept., 07, 2016 – President Barack Obama today announced the elevation of two officers serving in the US Naval Command to the rank of Vice Admiral.

The officers are Navy Vice Adm. James G. Foggo and Navy Rear Adm. William K. Lescher.
In a statement, Secretary of Defense Ash Carter said Foggo III has been elevated to the rank of vice admiral and assigned as director, Navy Staff, N09B, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

“ Foggo is currently serving as commander, Sixth Fleet; commander, Task Force Six; commander, Striking and Support Forces NATO; deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe; deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa; and Joint Force Maritime Component commander Europe, Naples, Italy”, Carter said in the statement.

He added that Lescher has also been elevated to the rank of vice admiral and assigned as deputy chief of naval operations for Integration of Capabilities and Resources, N8, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.

“ Lescher is currently serving as deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for Budget (Financial Management and Comptroller); and director, Fiscal Management Division, N82, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia”, he said.
