Lagos, August 19, 2016 – The Coliseum (Night Shift), once reputed as the home of entertainment and celebrity hangout in Nigeria may soon go under receivership, due to debt that it owes the Lagos State Government.
The state government also threatened to take over the entertainment outfit that played host to the high and mighty under receivership to enable it retrieved the debt if it fails to pay.
The Coliseum also known as Night Shift has been in operation since 1992 until 2012 when it closed shop for business and since then the structure once known as hotbed for entertainment was converted to an event centre for people to hold parties such as wedding and others.
Owned by Ken Caleb Olumense better known as Gov by those who know him very well, The Coliseum under his management played host to people like former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former President of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, former governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, and some other politicians, among which are Jimi Agbaje and Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.
On the side of the entertainment, the list is endless, it hosted the likes of the late Afrobeat King, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Chris Okotie, Charlie Boy, Funmi Adams, Onyeka Owenu and Chief Tony Okoroji.
It also played host to notable football players and administrators. The list include, Chief Amos Adamu, Clements Westerhof, late Stephen Keshi and Chief Alex Akinyele. However, Manager of the outfit, Mr. Moses Ogulaja said management is in talks with the Lagos State Government to iron out the problem as it relates to debts.
