Rio, August 21, 2016 – A gale of sanctions from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has continued to fall on Russian athletes, the latest hitting Evgeniia KOLODKO.

The athlete that took part in shot put event at the Olympic Games London 2012 in which she ranked 2nd and was awarded the silver medal has been disqualified.
According to IOC, reanalysis of Kolodko’s samples from London 2012 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substancesdehydrochlormethyltestosterone (turinabol) and ipamorelin.
The IOC Disciplinary Commission, comprising Denis Oswald (Chairman), Gunilla Lindberg and Ugur Erdener, found Evgeniia KOLODKO to have committed an anti-doping rule violation and is disqualified from the event in which she participated upon the occasion of the Olympic Games London 2012, namely the shot put event, in which she ranked 2nd and for which she was awarded the silver medal.
Consequently, the IOC ordered that the medallist pin and the diploma obtained in the shot put event be withdrawn.
It also requested the IAAF to modify the results of the above-mentioned event accordingly and to consider any further action within its own competence.
The Russian Olympic Committee shall ensure full implementation of this decision.
“The Russian Olympic Committee shall notably secure the return to the IOC, as soon as possible, of the medal, the medallist pin and the diploma awarded in connection with the shot put event to the Athlete.This decision enters into force immediately’’, the IOC said.
