Abuja, July 21, 2016 – The Technical Committee of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has directed all assistant coaches presently in the NFF’s employment to look elsewhere for job.
They have been given till the end of this year to secure substantive employment elsewhere, following financial constraints facing the federation. The NFF also confirmed the appointment of Salisu Yusuf as Chief Coach of the Super Eagles and Head of CHAN team.
NFF SACKS ASSISTANT COACHES, APPOINTS NDUKA UGBADE INTO U17
The NFF also directed the Technical Committee to recommend a candidate for the position of Technical Adviser in the next 7 days following refusal of Paul Le Guen to take up the appointment.
Le Guen lost the job following his refusal to accept target and live in Nigeria. The NFF also approved the appointment of Mr. Imama Amakapabo as Assistant Coach and Mr. Alloy Agu as Goalkeepers’ Trainer.
Mr. Bitrus Bewarang was recommended to take up new National Technical Director.
He replaces the late Coach Shaibu Amodu. The NFF board also approved the recommendation for Mr. Nduka Ugbade to return to the U17 National Team as Assistant Coach.
The Executive Committee agreed that henceforth Head Coaches of the various National Teams will be on monthly salary, while assistant coaches will receive only bonuses and allowances.
